Hi Eyore. How's it going. Welcome to the forum. Where abouts in Ireland are you? I'm in carlow. My number is....... enjoy the crac.
On the assumption I do get me a Sprint to tour, on my priority visit list is your neck of the woods, first down to Killarney then up the West coast to Inisfree - I do love Yeats' poetry and so homage to the Lake Isle. Last (and first) time I was over as tourist rather than on business junkets was camping with #1 son maybe 20 years ago, and came back with some fond memories of super friendly people. Car broke down (minor) near Killarney. Got towed to a village workshop by the owner of a local dealership who had a strong Irish accent (as they do). Got chatting and turns out he was a Belgian who came for a visit 15 years earlier, met a girl, married her, stayed and learned English the local way. So anyway, when collecting the car next day I happened to mention to one of the mechanics that their boss had a really strong Irish accent for a Belgian. He turned to his mate and said 'There, I told you he wasn't a local boy'. Made me smile. And the crack was brilliant.
Yes Richard, Ferry across, to Dublin, bee line to Killarney and 5 days to get up to Yeats country taking your time to follow the Wild Atlantic Way. http://www.wildatlanticway.com/home...9oLTYUcKdEvs5-ZoK-ekBkuRrVf5q5oSb8aAiHZ8P8HAQ. I had a Sprint and a group from the Sprint forum came over from the UK in 2014 to do the Wild Atlantic Way. We had a ball. So yes ,do it.
...and finishing off up North and the Giant's Causeway, before over to Stranraer and a quick ride round my Ayrshire roots up Dalry way.
So, speaking of the great WB Yeats, let's not forget he was a Triumph man himself, as he wrote: Her Triumph (William Butler Yeats, 1926) I did the dragon's will until you came Because I had fancied love a casual Improvisation, or a settled game That followed if I let the kerchief fall: Those deeds were best that gave the minute wings And heavenly music if they gave it wit; And then you stood among the dragon-rings. I mocked, being crazy, but you mastered it And broke the chain and set my ankles free, Saint George or else a pagan Perseus; And now we stare astonished at the sea, And a miraculous strange bird shrieks at us. And speaking of great Irish poets, who can ignore Spike Milligan. With due deference to John Masefield's 'Sea Fever', this was a campside favourite with my kids 'I must go down to the sea again, to the lonely sea and sky; I left my shoes and socks there - I wonder if they are dry?
I once had a friend, a friend named tim. And someone threw a tomato at him. Now tomatoes are soft and dont hurt the skin. But this tomato was in a tin, I love spike. He told us he was ill......( on his grave stone)
Ahhhhh, the cliffs of Moher and over to craggy island ( father Ted) some nice roads over your neck of the woods, im thinking of doing the Bikefest in Kerry next year, been told its good. Have you been?
Bikefest is a bit too much Harleys arriving in town in the back of vans, tassels and leather waistcoats for my tastes.
Oh right. I didn't know that. The poster for it gives you the impression it's a good mix of bikers of all discriptions. Bringing the bike in a van WTF. Why not enjoy the ride. That's why we have bikes isn't it??
What you going to do with your tassles, leather waistcoats and chaps now Wayne? Refer to the photo of you and your mate not earlier post.
Ah, Me with Tassles........ I think not. what photo....your getting me worried now crispy. was i wearing suspenders as well
