    Hi all.

Have since made a few modifications.

First was sorting the ride out. The damping on this model comes in for heavy criticism amongst suspension specialists. Generally the shocks are cheap stuff front and rear, are underdamped and over sprung. All I can say is the ride on London roads is harsh and crash no matter what I do to the settings.

So I went with a Nitro Sport rear shock with the correct spring for my weight (85KG). Also replaced the front internals with K-Tech valves and springs both set up for my weight and matched to the rear. The ride has improved dramatically and with it the grip. Its not any softer but harshness has gone with a more fluid ride and feeling that bumps are actually damped out. Correct springing provides a tighter controlled ride. It should be the first place anyone spends their money on this model Speed Triple - cant speak for others. Added a gel seat for good measure - which is a lot more comfortable.

Also fitted CNC adjustable levers which work and feel a lot nicer - and obviously look cool. Lots of choices out there but I think Triumph's own are best.

Also added a direct mount CNC reservoir to clean up the bars a little. I have on my other bike and they're great.

Glad you got it sorted. My 2007 is perfect for me - I weigh three eighths of four fifths of fuck all but I'm finding my 2011 a bit harsh (strange since they say they've set it up for a softer ride) so I might have to take it to a suspension blokey.

The basic issue with Triumph is, unless you;re buying an R model with factory fitted Ohlins the parts they use are really cheap.

Then they also spec them badly. The damping is very hard - not enough oil flow. To counteract this they fit very soft springs but then you get crap response and mush front end.

My springs are actually a lot firmer than the stock ones but the pistons now flow far more oil at any speed - and the firmer springs react quicker.

The result - proper damping from increased oil flow and tight responsive steering from firmer springs.

Then its all matched to the rear shock for great balance - feels really nice now.
