I wonder if that place yer staying would allow a BBQ, attendees could bring summat, just a thought o_O

I do think something should be given to furthest travelled (probably a French Yorkshireman) , but also furthest travelled from UK. I used to do a Certificate on't computer in a past life. All just fun, nothing serious.

That sounds like a great idea Pete. Are there any other ideas for creating certificates - such as Best Bike, "Who can eat the most pies!"; a Yard of Ale competition; "Most Breakdowns on their trip" etc etc.

    All ideas welcomed ..............................

From memory I don't think they allow bbqs, but you could always go out to the grass verge on the side of the road and do it there!

The Royal Oak talks about firepits with some of it's camping places - normal fires are not permitted but says nothing about BBQ's.

Most campsites are OK with BBQ's as long as you don't scorch the grass. i.e. put your temp BBQ on a couple of bricks. A group Barbie sound like a good idea.

    Coolest T Shirt competition?

Only because I've ordered 3 for this trip.

Week1 normal; week 2 back to front; week 3 inside out normal; week 4 inside out back to front.

    Where's the problem?

Hi Mark does this mean you'll be coming to our Grand Get-together in August? It's during the week as that's what seemed most popular - 9th to 12 August.

Some, including me will be there throughout this period, others just for one or two nights.

If you read the thread you'll see where we are going to be based - next door to a Real Ale pub that does nice-sounding grub.

    Cheers
    Dave

There'll always be a pub Mark - hope to see you there.
(Don't let the apparent lack of underpants changing put you off!)

The reason my wife's not comming is that I only have a top box, two panniers and a tank bag to hold her underwear and that's not enough for three nights.
