Well the rain has finally stopped for five minutes in East Ayrshire so just managed to clean my bike before it started raining again, so much for the weather improving couldn't believe how much grime was on the bike.

Mine is still filthy with some additional Yorkshire muck. Didn't wash it today though as it was too sunny and hot. Will try early tomorrow morning.

So we got home safe and sound about 5:30. Dartmoor was beautiful this afto (but got to see a lot of single track roads with a lawn in the middle while sat-nav tracked down a petrol station).:D
.....So does that make us the slowest?:)
Anybody still out on the road?

Snoring loud enough to sink a bloody ferry I would think if his performance in the bunk house was anything to go by!

Yes guys, yours truly is back at home base (no, not the shop!!)

Got back at about 3pm today after a very, very long ride. The bike started to make a funny noise at low speed and got more obvious as time passed. It appears the chain is 'jumping' at low speeds. Not sure if it's due to it being too slack, or not sufficiently lubed or it's just buggered. Will start a new thread tomoz with pics of sprockets.

Hope it's not like my cover. You have to drain the oil to take the cover off !@@

I'll be starting a new thread for this chain business later today and I'll take pics of the front and rear sprockets.

However, on the way home I stopped at Chateauroux (about 60kms from home) and bought a small socket set so that I could take the front sprocket cover off and just have a quick look. It was completely caked in this dark grey grease/grinding paste. I took out about the size of a golf ball's worth of the stuff just so I could see if there was anything obviously wrong.

The chain looks a bit saggy whilst on the centre stand (but they all do) but the thing that surprised me most was the state of the chain (I had cleaned and lubed it before leaving home), it looked rather dry :eek::eek::eek::eek: - Scottoiler not yet fitted.
