They look very similar although maybe a later picture? do you know when the first picture was taken if the second one was 1915 ?

It looks like the group photo is much earlier, so she could be younger and slimmer....

No date on the later picture unfortunately.
Here's another one with one of my grandad's sisters - probably 1915.

What about this group Wessa? Titled "Llandudno trip - Betws-y-Coed" Probably the 1930's I'm guessing :grinning:

Love that picture. Must have been a lads trip eh! Some things don’t change. I wonder if they walked the same walk us at the railway station and on the sea front

Wow, Steve, these are amazing images. How cool that you have these glass plate negatives and that you are converting them. I really appreciate you sharing them with us. Makes me wish I'd gone through old photos with my parents before they passed away. Others have asked you to continue sharing these family photos as you digitize them. I agree, please do!

Thanks Sandi - there are still a lot to convert and quite a few without any description but I might be able to get some clues as I convert more.

This is definitely my grandfather on the left, so that means that he's the sailor on the right in the Lerwick photo above.

Sadly I have no idea who this chap is though.

Sure can see a likeness between yourself and your grandfather Steve.

When I first saw the guy on the right of the Lerwick photo on page1 I thought that he must be a close relation of yours.

I love going through old photos and colouring/restoring them.
I recently came across a load of olds WWII from my dad's side of the family so I have loads to do on rainy days or when waiting for parts to arrive.

All the very best of luck with digitalising and restoration of them. Keep us updated on the progress :)

Dig the period clothes. Look at what we’ve got these day’s, ripped jeans that our arses are hanging out over.
