I think the issue is how you express your opinion, not that you have one. Also, I reserve the right not to respect some opinions if they're based on an anti-social premise.

 

But ‘anti-social’ is itself a moveable standard. Some cultures think belching at a meal is a mark of appreciation......

 

It's also reasonable to expect an adult to know that what they're typing may be construed as a threat and take care with how they put their point across.

 

But if your mother says you don't do it at her table, then that's the rule.

 

No idea what's gone off or really interested TBH. Can't see why you have to take the whole forum down though because of unacceptable behaviour by forum members, why not just deal with the individual(s)? Any way it's back up which is the main thing. Happy days!!!

We live in a culture where people who use this forum should know the standards that apply.

 

I'm glad its back but suspect things wont be the same due to losing certain people and the banter that went with them, unfortunately because a lot of us are old school bikers who lack the skills or intention of today's PC world and found the forum fit like a comfy old slipper...but this has come under fire form those that do have today's PC/woke attitude so some dummy spitting went on form both sides and as i said before its a rock hard place situation for admin/mods and now i guess things have to be seen as being politically correct so i guess the comfy old slipper has to become the new designer shoe.

 

I suppose people can rejoin with a different screen name and location?

If ‘threats’ were the stated reason then we can only infer Rob felt threatened by the now departed. We apparently are not permitted to know the nature or credibility of the threat. Odd because Jez was so obviously the biggest fan boy (as well as a PITA of professional proportions). It simply doesn’t add up that he would trash his hobbyhorse.

Possibly a slightly worn hiking boot! I would still like to be able to be un- PC on here as this is about the last place you can be. I agree that there is no place for out and out racism on a forum (but I still think Lewis Hamilton is a massive prick! not because he is black but because he is a prick)

Would it be un PC to point out Mr Hamilton is every bit as white as he is black? So’s that Obama ...... but it doesn’t fit the desired narrative. Equally, racism is as odious as it is stupid. Our ancestors were all the same colour.
