    Sadly I had to cancel it 1 day before I was due to go. The better half's mum was rushed to hospital, where she spent 11 days, whilst they tried to find out what was wrong with her. Long story short, she's still above ground and home again. So Germany never got off the ground.
    Never mind, going to France Wednesday, then through Belgium into Germany. Just south west of Cologne. Going to a few bike cafes in that area, and taking in the glorious German country side. So fingers crossed I'll be going this time. Markus gave me some good information about some cafés to visit, but as the trip never got going, I'll have to go next year all being well.

    Wow, @Bikerman! I'm so sorry to read about you mother-in-law. I'm glad she's out of hospital and home at least. I hope they figured out what the problem was and could/can treat it.

    What a disappointment about having to cancel your Germany trip. But I guess in a way it's better that everything hit the fan before you were actually out on the road and had to come back. Your upcoming trip sounds like a pretty fantastic substitute, though. Have a fantastic and safe time and please post a report for us! :):kissing_heart:

    Been to both before, but the cafe Hubraum was shut the last time I went. So I've yet to experience it when it's open.

    Great story and Pics, Bikerman.
    Not trying to be too picky, but re the Newfoundland memorial, Newfoundland did not join the Canadian confederation until 1947, so they fought WW II as Brits. The memorial is quite superb, though, one of the best of that era..

    Not being picky at all, you'll know Canadian history way better than me or the French, ( Well the one's this side of the pond Ty24.gif ) Glad you enjoyed it. By the way BC's a stunning province, been there twice now. I love it. Hope the fires are dying down now too.
