Yes mate - mine appears to be loaded as separate routes but I will see if I can change that in the my-route app.

Let me know how you get on. I wasn't able to join them up in basecamp. I did manage to identify and rename them in the right order on my zumo. They are usable in this format.

If Daniel plans the routes with minimum waypoints in googlemaps, this would certainly help.

OK! I do my best; but in order to ‚force‘ the satnav onto certain picturesque roads, sometimes more waypoints are required...

    Please bear with me...

Here are 2 routes as a test. Both from Cherbourg to Bad Bertrich. Both have only TWO waypoints, but Google allows you to 'pull' the route to your liking. So would you please tell me: If you import into basecamp, do both routes have only two waypoints and do they differ in routing (one should be south of Paris).
IF this works out, I can plan with a minimum of waypoints!

    Thanks!

Ok I have successfully imported both of the routes to basecamp and then transferred them to my zumo. They have both loaded as single routes and look good when I preview them.

Although I have not tested it, I reakon that the GPX files extracted from googlemaps via the sofware Steve L identified will also load into myrouteapp as well. I will give it a try.

    Anyway over to you Daniel......

So here are 2 more tour suggestions:

Tour no.2: Start at the Hotel, then Cochem Castle and destination Geierlay Bridge visitor centre (from here it is about 10 min. walk to the bridge).

    https://goo.gl/maps/g53xy3jZNR32

Tour no.3: From the visitor center down into the Mosel valley and along the river back to the hotel (here we can decide, if we want to venture further southwest to Bernkastel Kues etc.)

    https://goo.gl/maps/g53xy3jZNR32

The tours are planned with a minimum of waypoints; but I have to 'force' the device sometimes, NOT to take shortcuts away from the river and across the hills...

I hope, I soon get the chance to try them out and check on parking, resting and fuelling stops.

And of course, coming closer to the trip, I will post a summary of the tours and the bucket-list again to declutter this thread and to make it easier to find the pertinent info :yum

Riding along beside the Mosel river is very appealing but of course I'll go with the flow. Just thought I'd get that in before Wayne did.

I was listening to radio 2 about 30 mins ago while driving back from my step daughters. There was a woman on requesting Born to be Wild by Steppenwolf. She went on to say she was about to have a hip operation and that when she recovered she was looking forward to getting back on her husbands motorcycle and visiting her favourite place, the Mosel Valley. She was saying the roads and scenery are fantastic and how bikers are made very welcome. It bodes well for our trip.

The book by Hermann Hesse that the group ‚Steppenwolf‘ is named after is also worth reading ;)

My favourite is the Glass Bead Game (Das Glasperlenspiel).
    Great author!
He also wrote quite a few books about coming of age and reading them, I never really grasped what it all was about Salinger.

After having a quick chat with @Havit at the GMU, I've been looking at our probable route from Zeebrugge to Bad Bertrich. If we go slightly more northerly by Antwerp we could meet up with Wayne just east of Antwerp at the Ranst services on the A13. The town of Ranst is just south of the A13 and the services and just before the junction with the A21.
Wayne is taking the Hull to Rotterdam ferry which docks 15 mins before ours.
Rotterdam to Ranst is about 81 miles and zeebrugge to Ranst is 72 miles.
So @Tigcraft @Tiglet @Smilinjack do you have any routes already in mind ?

Not looked at any routes at all Andy.

It’s been a few years since I’ve ridden abroad so a bit rusty riding on the right, I think it’s the right ;)
