I think it's an arbitrary figure that's set by the banks according to what they think is an unusual amount. I've certainly paid more than £100 into my bank with no problem.
Well I'm back.....and no bank managers where harmed....no idea if the payment will get through in time but if not i will be forwarding the charges to my local branch manager....and then plastic ingestion might take place.
Hmmm! Kit car my arse, that's the cash embezzled from Bad Billy Racing Hobnob fund while you was team manager!
Not bad DD, but you can feck off with the 18st+ ya basid! Might not be having another go this year, as it stands I ain't spending anymore money on racing until things are more settled at work , if the worst happens will be selling the bike/trailer/camper etc.
Unsure really mate, the uncertainty over the whole Brexit thing hasn't helped, my game depends on people buying imported goods from outside the EU mainly, as well as exports of UK manufactured goods all over the world, there doesn't seem to have been enough of either going on, uncertainty over tariffs hasn't helped. 2018 was a bumper year, as 2019 got going things slowed dramatically & have never really got going again, last time I saw things this bad in my industry was in 2007 into 2008 and we all know what followed.
This is where banks in the old days would use KYC (know you’re customer) checks and realise you’re not a criminal. Sadly the slaughter of so many branches thanks to poor fiscal regulation of the Blair/Brown years and the crash of 07/08 means that they don’t have those types of relationships anymore. here is a recent article why the checks are still pushed today; https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money...let-crooks-use-bank-account-launder-cash.html
Think I'll go back to the under the mattress bank....at least if the fookers try and steel it you have a chance at blood letting....with internet banking the thieves are spotty faced kids sat in front of a screen.
Tricky I hope the Credit Card payment arrived in time to avoid any late payment interest payments. Next time you may want to be be aware that Lloyds have an arrangement with the Post Office to accept cash payments. My Lloyds branch closes at 5pm but the Post Office branch 200 yards away is open until 5:30pm. All you need is your cash and a debit card for the account you want to credit. Simples.
I hope things work through for you @Bad Billy, there is nothing worse than having that uncertainty hanging over you.
