:eek:Wow  got to see a REAL consultant surgeon today :grinning:
He did some exercises and manipulateions on me and reckons it’s not my shoulders at all
Turns out that the back injury I had as a young man resulting in surgery in my thirties has sort of migrated up my spine and into my neck
I haven’t got a frozen shoulder and for both my shoulders to be this bad is probably a result of something happening in my upper spine/neck region
I’m now booked in for an MRI scan and waiting for an appointment letter :)
Hopefully it’ll show what the underlying problem is and how best to treat it :)
Those of you who have met me will know that I have terrible posture
I also have a slight curvature of the spine :(
None of this has stopped me enjoying my life and using my wit/charm and devastatingly good looks I know I’ll be alright eventually :kissing_heart:
I think I can see light at the end of the tunnel woo hoo :grinning::p

Not just progress but positive action! All sounds good .... apart from the "devastatingly good looks" bit - I think the tramadol is working overtime. Or you're on hallucinogens. Or smokin' stuff that smells a bit odd. Or maybe all three concurrently?

MRI is perfectly safe, unless it quenches. Then you rely on the fact that a engineer like me, got the quench vent correct and the low bid contractor installed it correctly

If it quenches it will make the room cold as the liquid helium used to cool them magnets boiling point is -452 degrees F.

Woo-hoo, Dilli! Such good news! :grinning: So great to hear that you're much closer to figuring out just what's causing your issues and then being able to get treatment that will provide you relief and let you get on with the things you love in life--without having to solely rely on your wit, charm, and devastatingly good looks. ;) I'm chuffed to bits for ya, Dilli.

About 22 years ago I had chronic back pain, unable to walk, bend etc,the whole of the muscles around my lower spine and hips used to go into spasm trying to support my lower damaged back.

To cut a long story short, over a two year period(I had private health care with my job and the retired Orthapedic consultant I was sent to see must have thought I was a cash cow,,,oops bull) I had manipulation under general anaesthetic, numerous blocks injected into my lower spine and numerous cortisone injections up my spinal canal(bloody big needle used) eventually I was sent for a MRI scan, well 2 actually as the first was somewhat blurred.
The result showed I had two burst disc in my lower spine.
The disc core had excreted and was pushing against the spinal cord to the extent that it put a large flat spot on the spinal cord.
The only solution was surgery but with a risk of becoming a paraplegic, they trimmed off and removed the excreted disc core, the operation was performed by a brain surgeon.
I had to have the op as I couldn’t carry on like that so took the gamble.
The operation was a success, but I’m wary of bending and lifting heavy weights.
I’ve only had one episode of chronic back pain since, about four years ago which resulted with me being on Tramadol and liquid Morphine again but it was only for a few weeks that time.

:mad:The news is reporting that the whole of the north east of England where I live is going into heavy restrictions because of this Feckin Covid shit show:mad:
I’ve no doubt I’ll probably get a phone call saying that because of Covid infection rates going through the roof they’re postponing MRI appointments until further notice

Sorry to hear this, dilli. You should threaten to show up with your welder and Duck and his angle grinder.

I'm hoping and praying they'll get you into the MRI tube just under the closure wire, Dilli. I swear, it seems like we're living a Mad Max movie these days.:sob: But if they can get you in and figure out the source of your pain, at least you can perhaps start with the correct and appropriate PT at home even if medical offices and facilities are close. Have you heard how imminent closures are in your area??
