Dilli: I.can really.sympathize with the shouler thing. Got two that are pretty shot. I was working.on a ladder one day. Had my head in the ceiling and got."zapped" on some 277 volt. Of course I came.flying.off.the ladder, bounced my.elbow off a file cabinet and lit in the floor. Heard a "POP". No good. The COMPANY doctor said I could work. I was scheduled to ride my.Sprint 400 miles.each.way to the M/C races at Laguna Seca in a couple of weeks. Rode up and back with my left arm in a sling. Got home from my trip and went to my OWN doctor who RE-exrayed it and said "it was broken,.but it is healing up". Spent 6 weeks in PT and on disability. Right shoulder has never been broken, just carried ladders for 25 years. It is junk. Take care of your self. The doctors sure will not do much. ...J.D.

BTW: That was the best M/C trip ever :D ....J.D.

Just seen this thread having not visited for a while - really sorry about your problems and that they've cost you your lovely bike!

Rotator cuff injuries are painful, and can take a good few months to heal. The other issues may well be associated so don't despair, amd good luck on the road to recovery.

I’ve now had 2 physio appointments and I have been doing it for myself every other day
But.....good news is that although I’ve a long way to go and I’m still in considerable pain I’m at last getting a bit more movement in my shoulders and arms :)
Was up early as usual as sleeping is still a problem so decided to see if I could drive the car
    I can :grinning::cool:
it Feckin hurts like hell changing gears but I can do it :)
Next week I’m in to see someone else and hopefully get some injections :)
Hopefully I’m on the road to recovery and past the worst :)

    ooooh...might get one of those Rocket 3R thingymeebob’s :p

As my ortho doc said to me, Dilli, "just keep plugging away on it every day". Hang in there. Consistent persistence! :kissing_heart:

    I’m seeing little improvement’s every day :)
Went to bed last night in considerable pain and was worried that I had over done it yesterday by riding the Tiger home
Had to get up early because I was uncomfortable on my shoulders but now I’m downstairs having a coffee I feel better than I have for about eight weeks :grinning:
Someone said motion is the lotion :)
Might try and do a cartwheel later but I’ll wait until I’ve had them injections before I go back to doing backflips :p

So glad you're getting some relief and already seeing improvement. That's awesome! I've heard the phrase "motion is the lotion" before and it's true. Without movement (even if it hurts), everything locks down.

A friend of my who is an OT (occupational therapist) and who has been advising me with my elbow rehab has another saying that I like. If you remember the Ex-Lax (laxative) commercials, it's related to that. She says to NOT go with the "No pain, no gain" maxim but instead follow the Ex-Lax way of thinking--"Gentle Persuasion". :joy: It does require a mental shift and a lot of patience but it's working for me.

Again, I'm really glad that your starting to feel better, Dilli! :)

Glad to hear there is some improvement. I have just spent the last three months with a trapped sciatic nerve and have only been able to walk in the last month. You mentioned that you had to get up out of bed because it is too painful to sleep on your side. I found it impossible to sleep on my right in a conventional bed but bought an inflatable single camping bed from Sports Direct (£7.99) and could inflate it to give some give to allow me to sleep almost pain free. Might be worth a try. All the best for a speedy recovery from now on.

I can sympathise with your sciatic pain:confounded:
I had to have an operation in my early thirties after two months sitting in a chair
Couldn’t even get into bed :sob:
Was off work for nine Feckin months with that one :poop:

Sciatic nerve issues are the worst. It comes on me sometimes and it is always like a bolt of lightning. Normal, normal, PAIN. It's the fear of motion that gets me both physically and emotionally.

I try to just work though the pain. I was feeling pretty spry for a 75 year old last Wednesday. Wife and I got in our truck and went up to the cabin we own. There is this pesky dead apple tree outside by the front steps. We spent the night sleeping in the mountain air and listening to the crickets sing. Next morning after coffee, I had a go at that tree with a "Sawsall". BOY was I sore the next day ! But I have a lovely stack of firewood on the front porch. Sometimes the pain gets the best of you- sometimes you get the upper hand. :D ....J.D.
