Hopefully people are moving away from the whole x vs x. You can like both and I think its good to know pros and cons of all the solutions available.

Ended up having a conversation with friends about EVs vs V8s recently what it is that gives us a stiffie every time we hear an engine roar.
As a kid I used play-cards and pegs on my bicycle to make it sounds like it had an engine. I mean it has to come from somewhere and the only where is our upbringing.
Todays kids prob won't feel the same "urge" for cool sounding car's if they don't have a parent that has brainwashed the kid.

I spend a fortune on slip-ons just to make the damn thing sound even cooler.
I've even given up trying to justify it for my non biker friends....
Before it was "yea, its lighter and gives more torque and HP and opens up bla.bla bla..." now I'm just...yup, I spent 2 grand on looks and sound....its stupid I know but I get a stiffie every-time I start the damn thing...

Will an EV give me the same thing...NO, not sound-wise at least...but the torque and design prob will.

I just went back to the Triumph web site to see what's been happening with the TE-1 project. The answer seems to be...not much. There was talk about a prototype being built by the end of 2021 but I can't find anything to suggest it exists yet, although I'm sure there's a very secure room somewhere with phase 3 of the project in progress. Perhaps it's another delay caused by the pandemic, maybe excerbated the shortage of microchips.

So what kind of licence do you need for an electric vehicle?

A current one, of course. :D
