Spark plugs have been changed and just look at the state of them, don’t think they’ve ever been changed and they were almost seized!

Also picked up a shorter baffle from TEC to replace the already short baffle in the 2-1 tracker exhaust and it makes the sound a little deeper and louder than before o_O

22% off the seat for Black Friday saved me £60 and that’s now on the bike along with black carb tops and sprocket cover. Got a mate powder coating the heel plate too which depending on how it comes out might be handy for some ideas I have for future projects :)

Yeah kinda glad I went with this one, British customs had the one I really wanted but it looked almost identical to this but was more than double the price. So that kind of sealed the deal.

Got some lovely new front and rear foot pegs to go on too when I can grab the time o_O

Popped the new front and rear foot pegs on today - the rears are from TEC and have a ‘spring and ball’ locking and folding mechanism which feels great. I find myself putting them down and up just to hear the solid click :joy: (I also have another set of these if anyone wants them for a fair price?)

The front pegs are made by LSL and are incredibly light but also extremely solid. You have to buy the adapters to fit the pegs in to but I’m very happy with them.

I was trying to fit a new gear shifter lever end peg today as the stock one is a bit of a mess. The new part is apparently a direct replacement and should just fit in place of the stock one. However couldn’t for the life of me get the old one off and now it looks worse than before so that cheesed me off a bit. Am thinking just replacing the entire lever might actually be easier as the peg will NOT budge :triumph:.

Time spent on the bike wasn’t a total disaster though as ended up digging out and fitting a bash plate I’ve had for a while :)

New shocks from TEC arrived today and couldn’t wait to fit them. I still need to adjust themproperly but so far pretty pleased with them o_O

Only done 10 miles or so but they feel far nicer than the overly springy stock shocks that’s for sure.

Kind of come to the conclusion that I’ve started myself a bit of a project here. The end goal is to black out most of the bike leaving the focus on the tank and the exhaust.

I’ve worked through quite a few bits already but what bothers me is the left side of the bike. Now the exhaust sits on the right side the left side doesn’t have anything going on and looks a bit crap to be honest.

Next year I plan to get the main engine casing powder coated black, this will hopefully keep the left side looking muted and the focus elsewhere. I’ll get the wheels powder coated too.

I’ve been looking at places to do the work. For the big bits I’ll use someone nearby, but I found this place called FireFox racing in Yorkshire who powder coated the heel guard for just a tenner and it’s come back great so worth bearing in mind for future small parts you can just Mail off.

Was peeing it down so rolled the bike into the garage for a change to do some tinkering.

Popped on this nice clutch arm cover, a new chain guard and the heel guard I got back the other day :)

Jumped on the bike a minute ago and no indicators work and the rear light doesn’t get brighter either when brake applied. Headlight is on and the full beam works, the tail light is on too.

Worked a few days ago I’m sure and can’t think anything I’ve done would’ve affected it ??

Electrics/connections all looked fine under the seat so moved onto the fuses. Just changed them all as I had a box of a thousand and that sorted it :)

Had a right blast picking up bits and pieces for the bike of late. Latest addition was this black microblade screen.

Been rather busy on the bike, I’ll have to grab some pictures of all the jobs when I’m completely done but here’s what I can remember!

I’ve relocated the ignition from up by the headlight to the left side of the frame, feels much better now rather than having to reach round the headlight to put the key in. I had relocated the rectifier to above the horn but wasn’t happy with it so put it back but have fitted a nice grill over it instead which looks pretty cool. I fitted a new horn too as the old one was unbelievably rusty.

New front indicator relocation bracket to go with new front and rear indicators.

A fairly big job (for me anyway) was removing the top yoke and the old headlight brackets so I could fit new ones that allowed me to drop the headlight down a bit. Reason for this was I installed a flat lay instrument panel so the headlight needed to be lowered, looks ace and everything looks nicely aligned at the front end now.

Picked up a grill for the oil cooler which is quite nice and have done a ton of wire/cable wrapping just trying to tidy bits and pieces up.

There have been hiccups along the way, removing old bolts and replacing them with new shiny ones isn’t as straightforward as it should be. Some just snapped and others are so rusty I’ve had to find workarounds but as frustrating as it has been (at times) I’ve quite enjoyed the process. I’m still working on replacing as much as I can with either titanium or stainless steel nuts and bolts but this is an ongoing process.

Got some colour match paint from triumph to touch up some marks on the tank from the previous owner and that’s come out quite well. Added some tank trim to the tank as well which helps it stand out a bit more.

New mirrors, chrome stem nut, brake reservoir cover, top riser clamps, pipe flange, choke knob, clutch arm cover and oil cover on the bike and I’m currently wrapping the exhausts (which is bloody hard on already installed 2-1 pipes) but the bike is taking on quite a cool cafe racer look now.

There’s some big jobs coming up which I’m not going to tackle myself. I’ve picked up a black alternator cover from a bonnevile which has the same part number (other the colour bit) as the one for a Thruxton.

Well I did ‘start’ to do it myself but after I took it off didn’t fancy it :joy:

I’ve also picked up a second hand clutch cover which I’d taken to be powder coated black and have just got back from picking that up, can’t wait for this to be on the bike as it’ll make SUCH a difference to the left side of the bike.

Will likely get the same guys that sprayed the clutch cover to do the wheels later this year.

Few pics showing new billet indicators and relocation bracket, rectifier grill, alloy cafe racer headlight bracket, new top riser bar clamps, brass stem nut, finned cylinder cover, flat lay instrument panel, chrome tank trim, ignition relocation to left frame side, oil cooler guard and bash plate.

Alternator and clutch covers booked in to be swapped over for the ones I’ve powder coated next week.
