Agreed we are just a number, no doubt, and we are being treated like that too.
Just because people die every second does not mean we need to knowingly kill more. That has nothing to do with a natural life cycle. You don't knowingly infect people with HIV because they will at some point die from something else anyway.
All you can do is actually quite a lot. Follow a bit of common sense and basic advice, use mask, avoid close contact and any gatherings, ramp up personal hygiene, if in doubt self isolate.
Carry on as normal without taking on board anything that is happening around.you is selfish. You may be prepared to risk it, but others are not.
It is very difficult especially until the government clears up what support will be given to people who do not earn while in isolation, which is another shortcoming of this donkeys bo**ocks of a government, but there are things you can still do.

I'm sorry, but calling someone frightened child, snowflake or whatever else because they followed the advice given by pandemic experts around the world and self isolated for a reason is idiotic and is exactly the attitude that gets more people killed.
There will be better chances to be a hard core patriotic hero who "kept calm and carried on as normal" through the thick of it. Now is not the time.

I have read that as far as the current legal system system is concerned we are all already dead! - Apparently the current system of justice is based on maritime law and not common law. If this is really true then it would go some way to explaining why there have been some very dubious decisions made in our courts and why the legal system now seems to be an industry in which the primary objective is making profit rather than upholding true and fair justice. Some people are trying to re-assert that the common law court is the superior court in the UK... https://www.commonlawcourt.com/

-Totally Irrelevant which country is to blame, the problem is here and is not going away.
-I'm not imposing anything, the specialists and those who experienced this already are giving advice, and to dismiss it as a fear and anxiety is irresponsible and damn dangerous.
-If you deal with this in your own way and ignore even the most basic official health advice and infect other people, than yes, it actually does make you a very bad person indeed.

I'm completely against any panic, stockpiling and any unnecessary media scaremongering. There is plenty of reasonable information out there to make some basic decision that could save lives. Simple as that.

I just carried over twenty senior citizens on my vehicle into belper...
If I didn't do my job how would they get basic shopping needs...
Also all the people I carried into work so they can do their jobs to keep the country going I would think is actually quite an important and responsible thing to do....otherwise who bakes your bread and supplies you with your cornflakes in the morning if people like me stayed at home because we listen to scaremongering.....
AS FAR AS GOVERNMENT ADVICE GOES (IF YOU BELIEVE IT) YES ALL FINE, IF YOU HAVE USED A MASK TO PROTECT YOURSELF AND THE PASSENGERS, EVEN BETTER, IF YOU DID NOT YOU MAY BE GETTING YOURSELF OUT OF WORK AS IF THEY GET INFECTED, YOU WILL HAVE NO ONE TO CARRY, SAME THE OTHER WAY AROUND, IF YOU GET ILL, WHO WILL CARRY THEM TO WORK? MAKE SENSE?
I hasten to add...How many people have I actually infected with anything other than the crabs that one time.
Seriously...how many people have I directly infected with covid19?????
NO ONE KNOWS, MOST LIKELY NOBODY, BUT ALSO POSSIBLY EVERYONE YOU CAME INTO CONTACT WITH, 14 DAYS INCUBATION, TIME WILL TELL
So how many people do you personally know right now that are directly infected with covid19???

How many people do you personally know that have died from coming into contact with a person infected with covid19???
BOTH ABOVE TOTALLY IRRELEVANT, 4 WEEKS AGO NO ONE IN EUROPE KNEW ANYONE WHO HAD IT, LET ALONE ANYONE WHO DIED FROM IT, LOOK AT THEM NOW? WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THIS COUNTRY SHOULD BE ANY DIFFERENT?? MAKE SENSE?
Those experts you blindly put your faith in currently say that it is safe for me to do my job and risk of infection is minimal...your experts mate that you listen to....
MANY EUROPEAN COUNTRIES IN LOCKDOWN, WITH MORE MEASURES BEING TAKEN EVERY HOUR. JUST BECAUSE YOUR GOVERNMENT THINKS THE GDP IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN PEOPLES LIVES DOES NOT MEAN YOU CAN'T TAKE ON BOARD INFORMATION FROM OTHER COUNTRIES OR USE A BIT OF COMMON SENSE THAT APPLIES WITH ANY VIRAL INFECTION
I DO NOT LISTEN TO ANY OF MY MATES, I LOOK AT WHAT THE EXPERTS IN THE MOST AFFECTED COUNTRIES IN THE FRONT LINES ARE SAYING. MAKE SENSE?

The state currently as no plans to close down public transport so I shall continue to go work and earn a wage...
AND THAT IS FAIR ENOUGH EVEN THOUGH I DO NOT AGREE WITH THIS COUNTRY APPROACH, BUT YOU CAN STILL WEAR A MASK AND DO ALL THE OTHER SENSIBLE PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT YOURSELF AND OTHERS, NO HARM IN THAT

People like me selfish???? NOT YOU, BUT SOME OF YOUR BEHAVIOR MAY BE, EVEN THOUGH VERY LIKELY WITH GOOD INTENTIONS
    People like me idiots???
    SAME AS ABOVE
    Shame on you sir..
I'M PRETTY SURE YOU ARE DOING WHAT YOU THINK IS BEST, IS IT NOT A EXTRA REASON TO PROTECT YOURSELF SO YOU CAN CONTINUE TO HELP OTHERS?

SORRY FOR THE LARGE PRINT, DID NOT KNOW HOW TO DO IT IN COLOR, DOH!

It’s all well and good mocking the UK Pete, but can you explain how long countries are going to be able to operate in lockdown for? Because this virus is here to stay, certainly until a vaccine is widely available. Recognising that and planning around it may be better than kidding ourselves otherwise.

To be clear, there are risks in this approach, and I am not qualified to judge whether it is the best way forward, but there are two sides to this story, and whilst running around panicking may work in the short term, it isn’t a plan.

FFS! Look at the facts. People are going to die, it's a fact, but it's not going to be the end of humanity. The people who are dying are old and/or sick, exactly the same as with seasonal flu! No fit and healthy person has died of Covid-19, for the VAST majority it's like a bad cold or the flu. For many it's just like a mild cold sorted by a few days in bed.

I'm certainly no expert either. I'm not mocking it, I just disagree with it.
I think the western world is well off enough to tighten the belts and survive a year with a flat economic rate. Extreme situations like this will always require some difficult decisions.
I agree we can't stop it, we have to manage it.
You can still put measures in place with trimmed down economy still running and it is pretty harsh for almost everybody but the richest, agreed, but you can not put a price on peoples lives.
I agree we must not panic, but ignoring it will not make it go away.
All I'm saying is to be sensible and take some basic precautions above of what is you government telling you, like with any other viral infection.

And that means, as you will only have it as a mild flu, it is ok for you to pass it onto someones mum, who is perfectly fine in her 70ties with a bit of asthma, which she keeps easily in control, who can potentially die from it?
Or someones dad, who just successfully recovered from cancer and has been given all clear, but because the body is exhausted from the chemo, this will most likely kill him.
We can all do the bare minimum to help at least slow this down so the NHS can cope..

One thing I find odd is that many people are saying that the infection rate will decrease in the summer... only problem with that theory is that it is currently summer in the southern hemisphere where it is still spreading, and Australia is apparently reporting an alarming increase in infections

I find it quite extraordinary that the company would not allow you to wear a mask as a precaution especially when in contact with potentially high risk group of people and in a group.
I've had a fair share of the " look at him " moments at work this morning when wearing a mask, but I could not care less about that.
I have got potentially 3 people on site in the high risk age group and even though we were not officially told yet, I made them to wear a mask as well as wearing it myself. That is the least I can do for them at the moment while allowing them to earn their wages.

Unless you have the correct masks and know what you are doing with mask use and hygene, they can be worse than not wearing one and make you more susceptible to getting ill.

I wonder why doctors in my country as well as around the world are making their own mask when there is a shortage of supplies, saying it is still much better than nothing.
It may not protect you, but at least it reduces the chances of you passing it on.
I have been to face fitting course and I agree that for it to work correctly to 100%, it needs to be spot on, but when nothing else is available, anything is certainly better than nothing..

It’s not that the virus will decrease, it’s that the normal winter NHS pressures should have decreased, allowing us to cope with the peak of the bell curve of the viral load in the population.
