Israel claiming to have developed a cure -

 

Lamb update. My wife took a walk this morning, and was pleased to see 'our' lamb - still pretty muddy - with its mother. It was trotting about, looking as happy as Larry. (Possibly it was Larry, of course....)

 

Scotland has 87 cases in intensive care.
Is that a lot or not, bear in mind the rest of the wards in the Hospitals are emptyish?

 

I think this has obviously affected my sanity, I'm actually beginning to agree with Nicola Sturgeon today

 

Looks like we will be able to have a decent ride on Wednesday. Just got to pack the thermos and a few sarnies.

 

it sounded like all outdoor leisure activities that respect social distancing will be allowed? such as sunbathing, sitting on a park bench, sky news mentioned Golf & Angling.

so that would include leisure rides on a motorbike then?

 

He did say drive to a park and sit on a bench,keep social distance,so yes.

I am Scottish but feel that Boris may have got it right and the others are over reacting. The one thing people are most worried about is having a job to go back to.
The whole issue of not being outside is a worry; I read today about some people going to a beach on Saturday, photographed by an I rate local, and having the affrontery to actually "sit on the sand" it is getting silly.

I hope he has got it right otherwise we will be staring at the walls for a long time to come!!

 

I don't believe my own ears,just now on the tv,it must all be to do with money,boris is now basically saying go back to work.NO WAY,maybe if NOBODY has died each day for at least 2 months then yes,but just because a few less have died today than yesterday it's getting better,the goverment can't keep paying people to stay at home so it's thinking about how to save money over people's lives.

 

The biggest risk now is care homes and hospitals. Let me give you a very personal example of this. My father in law has just died, on VE day actually, of COVID contracted in hospital. He was admitted for a different issue and tested negative on admission for the virus but somehow he became infected and didn't die peacefully, something that is hitting us hard as a family right now.
So much as I'm as desperate to get out on my bike as you probably are it's making me think twice because slim as the chances might be of having an accident, believe me, the last place you want to be is in hospital.
Ride safe if you're going out everyone, this bastard disease doesn't care who or how it affects.

 

there's far more too it than that.
The virus isn't as bad as first feared, and the consequences of the lockdown may well be worse than the virus itself. So there is a balance to be made between supressing coronavirus and allowing society to resume.

 

And if the govt keep paying peoples wages to stay at home where will that money come from?

 

How would i know i'm just a scumbag agency worker on min wage,been at home 2 months and ain't had a penny.

 

BUT i'd still rather be at home skint than go to work and come home with the virus and kill my mrs.

 

What if a loved one gets Cancer? which is actually far more likely to threaten their lives at this time.

 

It's all still very bad and sad,hopefully there's light at the end of the tunnel.

I know someone (25) who was already being treated for cancer and now they’ve stopped her treatment.
