Thanks @Sandi T. No rioting in my town. There’s a lot of troublemakers causing trouble in other cities however and the police have had to bring in water canons.
Knowing and understanding history helps to understand and predict what might happen in the future. History is always relevant.
Not really, just proving a point. The relevance of what happened may or may not be relevant to now. I’m really not sure what your point around what happened in France during the Second World War is relevant to what is being discussed here. Maybe you can explain the connection as I can’t see it.

I didn't say it was relevant to what is being discussed here. Read my post again. I merely stated what I could say if I wanted to start French Bashing.
The entente cordial was relevant,but not in a way that you’d like. It was a major contributor to both world wars and without it we would have less likely to have war with Germany. This isn’t my opinion but information that historians have told me.
Because without it we would have probably have not been at war with Germany and may possibly have joined the Germans against the French. Edward vii has a lot to answer for.
