Chap on our local market selling Covid vaccines today.
    £2 each, or 3 for a Pfizer.
    PS. Already got me coat.

Just saw this same video message posted on another thread by Judd Dredd. Yes, a very powerful and stark message from the "real" world...to the rest of the world.

    Today’s UK numbers:

    Cases 68,053, deaths 1,325

No doubt a combination of Christmas and the new strain, but I fear those numbers will only be going in one direction over the next couple of weeks. I’ll certainly not be going into London any time soon, where a major incident has now been declared due to the pressure on hospital beds.

and some suggestions it may have peaked. Let’s hope so albeit Covid deaths seem to displace ‘other causes’ one for one so seasonally not that abnormal.

And those who claimed that surely didn't live in Sweden as the government has been very clear that "herd immunity" has never been the way forward.

The new laws is put in place since many don't have the brainpower to figure out how to behave and need clear rules on everything.

Its amazing to hear all the questioning people come up with and how they make up excuses for not following the recommendations.

Heard yesterday "Hey, you dare to come along to the pub, I've already had covid so I won't infect you"

Here’s an idea, why not vaccinate those who’ve had the virus last?

Good idea if you definitely had the virus and not just a positive PCR test, which is indicative of exposure to the virus.

Are you saying someone who has had Covid and recovered is still infectious or liable to get it again any time soon?

Or a discarded segment common to a number of coronavirus’. PCR at umpty ump cycles is a bit of a dragnet. Don’t forget we share 85% of our DNA with a mouse......

Just spoken to a mate in Spain, where they have local lockdown,no one in,no one out apart from deliveries etc.
Restaurant and bars and shops are open golf course open and sunshine.
We could have had something similar, make the fines for transgressors mean something and collect a bounty for reporting the aforementioned.
In our area we’ve had too many piss takers from the cities, although there are fewer now, there’s still a few of them about.
I’ve heard that “we’re” in the eye of a storm, well not round here we’re not.

For every UK person there are 114 people on this planet who are not from the UK i.e. UK popn is just 0.9% of the World’s.

And yet for every UK COVID death there are 14 elsewhere in the world I.e.
the UK supplies 7% of current World deaths.

The US picture is similar (Both countries PCR testing way in excess of other developed countries.)

Is this credible? Or is over testing leading to chronic misdiagnosing many other respiratory illnesses that have disappeared from the statistics pretty much one for one with what might annually be expected?

What is the point ? Beds occupied, people in intensive care etc, that is the real world. Noodling around PCR test again and again about how much inaccurate they are is useless. That's all we have so far, it does what it does and is still better than nothing.
Do you have a better suggestion?

Indeed. I've heard from enough real front line NHS workers to know that the only issue that matters is that they're on their knees, very likely with worse to come.
