Chain and sprocket lifespan

The double feed is actually meant to make a significant difference from what I hear Mick.

 

Checking the stretch s a better measurement of how far gone a chain is in my opinion.
Just use a vernier gauge and measure several links.
I usually measure a couple of links individually then do 10 link sections.
At different points.
If the links are excessively worn it will show up that way.
All I can say is I love belt drive

 

Sorry I should have been clearer.I replaced the nib and set it up, and its been working since a few weeks after I got the bike.

 

I will presume you topped the oil up as well then

 

Will do, thanks I have a gauge. Just done two days and I didnt notice anything at all wrong.
The thing is shes off the road now for a hub,swingarm rear shock rebuild so Im down there anyway and it does look like one way or an other the chain and sprockets getting some attention

 

New chain and sprockets ordered
