Sounds like you have a plan. Spreading the center joint seems reasonable.
You can also tweek the cans end brackets a little as they do give some with a little outward pressure on the pipe and can.
Glad I good help a little......if you get bored check out my profile picture albums you might enjoy seeing my Sprint over 23 years plus some of my other rides long gone now.Taking my BMW to Seattle, Washington next month can't wait.
Sprint has been there twice, nice mountain roads and the Pacific Coast Highway is great IMG_4313.JPG .

    Fuck off you nosy cunt
I was looking at the cans yesterday... I think that if the tail end gous towards the wheel, that will allow enough movement at the front to let the centre sections move outwards a bit. It's probably going to be a case of dry fitting the stand and just fiddling until it will fold up. Bit of a pest as I use a paddock stand at the moment, and of course that is also in the way!

That being said, moving the cans in at the back and out at the front will make using that easier too.

Thanks again for all your help @Tim Schultz :) Hope you have a good trip!

Will definitely check out your profile pics!
