Good to hear you're making progress. It can be a very gradual job,but worth it in the end.

Well News , did a block ride ! Didn't kill or hurt anyone including me ;):)

Did another ride yesterday , went Round a bigger block , 8 km so ~6 m.
Me OK , but the bike engine has that Knock in it , not sure of origin ... but engine swap needed for sure. Been talking to my cousin in Ipswich United Kingdom. He wants to come over to Australia , probably April/May when the Snakes are in hibernation :p as he's petrified o_O So I have until then to fix, plan and save$$$£££ for the planned ride
Perth (Nullarbor) Adelaide , Melbourne or Sydney to finish up. He has some Ex Squaddie REME and such mate's who live/settled here in Australia.
So I'm going fully recovered or not (80%+) hopefully.
Donations greatly appreciated ;);) , advice especially :sun::heart:
LoL , the trip sounds expensive $$ he wants to stop at Pubs Hotel's and Motels , HE Wants Beer & Steaks swapping Bull every night .
Hence :- Donations Greatly Appreciated -: don't know if I can keep up , not been a regular drinker for many years now

Well, @capt, sounds like you'd better start practicing so that you can keep up! ;):joy: Just kidding, of course. Then again.....

It's good to read that you're getting out riding again. That's great news. You have certainly been through the ringer. Sorry the bike's not healing up as well as you, though. Hopefully you'll get that sorted in plenty of time for the ride with your cousin. I laughed, when I read that he's petrified of snakes. If you stay in hotels and motels and spend time in pubs and the rest of the time you're on your bikes, who needs to worry about snakes?! That said, I'm definitely not a snake fan myself and there are plenty in our Arizona desert. Your planned trip sounds wonderful  and I hope that it works out for you to do it! :)

Great news to start the new year. Jus keep doing what you can and like @Sandi T you will be back there soon. No need to rush it is still cold out there and the summer is still a ways of. Lots of luck and good wishes coming your way.
    Joe.

Hi all , @Sandi T , done two short ride's , about 8km or ~5 miles in your lingo :p, went well. Just the bike to repair before serious use can resume. My Cousin from Ipswich Suffolk in England wants to come over here to OZ in ~August ? So that's being factored in to my plans
Saw Physio last week , talked about my "swimming regime" she was :blush: very pleased , I still can't do the Australian Crawl (freestyle) left shoulder doesn't rotate that far yet :oops: I've been trying o_O:oops: another few weeks or maybe a month :):p

Thanks for the update, capt. Steady as she goes. Your cousins visit is a nice incentive to get that bike fixed and have your body healed up (at least mostly). Glad you're continuing to mend and that you got a thumbs up from your physio. :grinning:

Did ten laps Breaststroke for first 9 , last lap freestyle , almost did the complete lap ... ! We without stopping , almost as slow as my faster breaststroke lap ...

That's great news, @capt. Hang in there, you've gotten a start and it will come back over time. The first time I got back on my bicycle for a ride after my crash, I did eight slow (a crawl, actually!) miles and felt as though I'd not ever ridden, much less raced, a bicycle. Now after more than a year I can go ten miles. ;):joy: Just kidding.... Seriously though, way to go. Keep on it and enjoy being able to swim again, capt!

    Well @Sandi T latest update
About two weeks ago IMG_20220801_093503_956.JPG IMG_20220801_092425_861.JPG

Bought this for my Cousin's visit, he sent me the money , we chatted about what he was interested in.
He will be over in September, yeah I know an earlier post above said April , but life's variables got in the way , but it's happening ;) , I have done two longish rides , 300/400 km round trips. Shoulder and body did well , just had painful nights sleep. But Ok in the following Day's .
Top picture at the beach Ledge Point in WA. Second was the day of purchase in the Hills above Perth , approx 200 km before the beach picture. Cousin is Chuffed (well pleased) and I'm quite impressed with how this bike runs and ride's in comparison to my first 94 Trident !

Hi, @capt! So sorry about my ultra slow response and I really do appreciate the update. I've not been on the forum for nearly a month.

I'm so happy to see your progress and read that you are riding again. That's wonderful! You must be very well pleased (yes, chuffed). :) Have you been doing even more riding since you posted this back at the end of July??
