Good news Capt, good progress and happy they found the encapsulation early as it is a bugger to treat/sort.
    I found acupuncture worked well.
Best wishes on your continued recovery.

Hi @Dartplayer , yes acupuncture treatment is a strange beast. I wouldn't have thought it would work , until I had it done on my right arm and hand. It was very effective on the pain and blood flow . Did blood pressure testing on right side before and after. Made five ish points lower after the treatment :):p
Also helped with pain for quite awhile.

Just now saw your updates, @capt, and am so glad to read about your progress. How great that doing something fun like going for a drive through the bush actually turned out to be therapeutic! :grinning: I found that to be the case with my elbow, too, when I started riding again. Plus, I don't know about you, but I also found it mentally therapeutic for to be doing something fun that turned out to be physically therapeutic as well and NOT always focusing on the injured parts.

And how great that your drive serendipitously led to looking into a change in your physiotherapy program, too! Hope you continue to improve daily. Thanks for keeping us updates on your progress and improvement. Now get out there and go for a drive in the bush!:sun:

A few weeks ago I had some reoccurring pain in my left side below my ribs ! So went to the Dr's as you do. He sent me for another ultrasound last week , results came back Tuesday. Saw my doctor again , all good ! Just sensitivity raised since major trauma , spleen recovered polyps down to one now :);) some evidence of minor liver fatty damage  Dr's explanation of pain in my side.!! With major trauma (severe bruising in my case) the body can take many months to Clean Up ! With increasing age it can be longer. So I may have recurring pain/bruises from very minor Bumps !?!?:( good news on my hypertension ! Blood pressure is much better , control achieved with reduced medications :mask::blush: now down to half a tablet , no longer on two different medications...:):mask::):grinning:.

Hi @Sandi T , Fri 15 Oct. All good :grinning: here. Been to Physio a couple of times , been getting some heavy manipulation from the therapist. She has been putting me through some pretty painful manual stretching and such. Shoulder is good but worn out, physically tired more than anything else:rolleyes:;). I'm tiring fairly easily , but getting physically stronger each week, told my therapist I can now use bath towel to dry myself. Can dry my back :grinning: couldn't for weeks and weeks.

Thanks for the update, @capt. I'm glad things are going well! But I definitely remember how painful the physio manipulation can be. I also remember how excited I was, like you, be able to dry my back by myself and a few other basics like washing my hair with two hands and being able to put my contacts in. It certainly reminded me of how many "simple" daily activities we take for granted until we can't do them.

I'm so glad you're getting physically stronger each week. Take your time, it'll come. When it comes to healing and rebuilding, patience is definitely a virtue. Hang in there and stay on that path!

I went for an 8+km walk today, started just before 8am and got home about 10:20 , boy it was A Hot return home , got up to 33°c by midday. Was ~18°c about 8am and must have been 26~28 by the time I got home. I was Soo exhausted !!
Tomorrow is another day , start afresh. Shoulder has been tired/sore all afternoon , but better for it ...;)

    Hi All and @Sandi T ,
Well the shoulder is coming along really well. After a day of use - chore's around the house and Mowing the lawn front and back yard .. I have little discomfort anymore !! Sometimes it's ~ Numb or Bit Achee ..
    but nothing more than that.
I have another tele-health conference next week , Tuesday I believe. they will be asking me about my progress with the Injections (cortisone) and answer will be unbelievable still no pain :):relieved:
My Physiotherapist has cut me back to fortnightly visit's and manipulation.
I can't rotate or lift my arm at the shoulder anywhere near a much as she can push/force it but it's now improving several Degree's between each visit :);) Although she can't believe how much force/effort she has to exert to get to Maximum (Scream Zone LoL ) yeah the manipulation STINGS !! But getting less so .... :yum

    cheers capt

Great news capt, glad you're getting back to the normal again. You can come and do my lawns if you like, purely as therapy of course.
How soon will you be back on the bike, or a bike, I guess yours is still very poorly?

Thanks for the positive update, @capt! Glad to hear things are moving along so nicely. That improvement of several degrees a week is great. Eventually you'll be able to do it on your own without having to hit that Maximum Scream Zone--a zone I remember all too well. ;) It's great that you have little or no discomfort these days (other than those physio sessions, of course). As @sprintdave asked, when do you think you might be back on a bike? How are you feeling about that prospect in light of all you've been through?

Well , I hope to start in an do engine swap before the new year, I bought a Haynes Manual online early last month. So there will be no surprises and I have torque settings , although mostly I just use the ~ft~ method ;):p But a trained experienced ~ft~ as bolt sizes go up more F in the T. The biggest niggle I have is my ECU has a 'special' map/tune appropriate for the current setup (905cc ported) and will be using a std 865 engine !
I have sat on the bike in the shed a few times in the last couple of weeks , I can now comfortably reach the bars without leaning forward as much as the first efforts !! As my left arem now extended reaches the Zone in which a Ride would be safely possible :);)
I'm going to try a ' block' ride in next couple of weeks. Just do a few hundred metres ;););)

Sounds like you're on the way to being on the road, @capt. That's great! :) Sounds like one of the main keys is reaching the bars with your left arm comfortably and safely. My criteria to get back on and ride was being able to put a helmet on my head by myself! :joy: I couldn't touch my neck or face or chest with my left hand for months because my elbow wouldn't bend enough. So the last niggling thing was actually being able to secure the helmet chin strap using the D ring. I figured if I couldn't put a helmet on by myself I probably had no business riding yet. ;)

I'll be curious to know how that first "block ride" goes. I only intended to ride five or six miles my first time out and felt so good--and it felt so good to ride--that we went about 30! Good luck and please keep us posted. And don't do too much! It'll come.....

@Sandi T you mentioned putting your helmet On Yourself !
Reminded me of this ... A few weeks after my accident when my insurance company paid out.. I went to see about getting a new helmet...
Without thinking or taking it slowly ... I tried to "toss up" the helmet to the usual fitting it on my head position ..
The Pharking pain was Unpharking believable !!??
I nearly dropped a brand new ~$450~ helmet !! Luckily for the proprietor and me my right hand still working and HELD ON phew!!
I can now reach up and put a helmet on with little or no discomfort. The reach forward is the still unclear and uncomfortable position. !!!
