How did you install part #7? How did you hold it in place while you threaded the nut? Did you attached the c bracket topart #7 before installing part #7?
I held it in place and screwed the nut on. You definitely do this first, and then attach the C Bracket, and when you get the part about attaching the C Bracket, see my post above about removing the front sprocket cover.
In addition, I found it useful to install one spring to reduce the tension then the other. here is a video I found that may help, but definitely remove the sprocket cover. It made a world of difference.
