Thanks! its a unit construction T160 Trident triple, the clip on's sounds interesting but rather uncomfortable are you having forward controls?

I love it! That’s going to be amazing. Custom through and through. It will be fun to watch as you progress. I wish I had a motorcycle lift like that in my garage. Man would that make life a little easier.

So, the project continues. Last night I got time to fit the hard tail properly, after getting the centerstand off. Fitted the wheel, and the bar that keeps the break drum from spinning. Also got the aluminium velocity stacks in place. Next I will see if I can get the front off. Take the headlight bracket off, and mount the clipons and new headlight.

Prior to my current Thruxton R I owned an R9T, and in that community the kind of project you're undertaking was regarded pretty much as the norm. Really looking forward to seeing the results.

Thanks, it seems to me, like if these bikes are not restored to original, then the hard tail version, is what most people like to build. Finding a lot of pictures as inspiration. Haven’t found many in British racing green though, so hopefully that will make it stand out a bit :p

Another week, and another evening in the barn to work on the project :yum
My plan was to get the forks out of the clamps, remove the brackets for the headlight, and then trial fit the clipons.
Normally the forks comes out fairly easily, but not on this girl  She kept her legs in tight
I really had to go to town with my deadblow hammer, and it did take a lot of force and WD40 to get them out.
And why where they difficult to get out you ask? Well, see for your self :scream:

Obviously she has not been taken care of by the previous owner. Luckily I didn’t damage the threads on the top nut. I tried to sand of some of the rust, but it has already sat its marks. So I ended up ordering new tubes from the UK! Budget now needs to be classified as TOP SECRET  :skull:
