O'H Mates you all know we all need a good moan every now and then. Won't change anything we will still go to the watering holes pay the price its what we do. But a good moan makes us feel good. Plus i have a liking for the McDonalds coffee.

Sadly not. Believe me I have tried. Never contacted the old hen himself. Even last week it was their 50th anniversary and even that didn't work when I suggested there should be a celebratedly price drop. OH well just to family divorce them

As Joe said, we all like a whinge now and again. But overpriced or poor quality goods or service is sure to get us going.

A favourite stop for bikers heading for a blast over the Duke's Pass is in Aberfoyle where the old hot roll van has been replaced with a permanent sit in/takeaway cafe, serving all the same coffee, rolls and more.

A cuppa and the biggest blueberry muffin for under a fiver sounds good to me..... quite often! :yum

A local place here called Cafe Racer has a great name and t-shirt and I was so looking forward to it opening after a long spin-up. Loved the pic on the shirt hanging in the window but couldn't swallow what seemed to me to be way-too-high prices for a walk-up, order at the window, take your food in a bag type of place...and what's a potato doughnut anyway? And its only motorcycle connection is the name and pic; it's not even a particular gathering places for riders. Yes, we're thrifty and yes, some might see it as tight, and yes, we spend on our bikes.

But I love their t-shirt pic!

Missed it last night, but repeated at 3:00am Weds 31st on BBC 4 "How To Build A Cathedral" (Probably findable on iPlayer and Brit box as well) which will look at how they did it. Should be fascinating:).

Sharron and I went back to Wickenby on Saturday, they were hosting a wing walking event. I'm not sure why its called wing walking cos you appear to be strapped in to something akin to a torture rack, but the people partaking seemed to have a lot of fun.

For my first decent length ride on the new STRS Sharron and I went down to the Faun Cafe on the old RAF Hemswell site in LIncs. Good grub at decent prices. We will call again.

If you like browsing around antique shops (bargain hunt kinda thing) the site is also riddled with them. Perhaps now the weather (here in the UK) is turning to crap, it's the type of place you could go in the car, have a brekkie in the cafe and then walk around the shops.

20241031_102104.jpg Another place worthy of a plug IMO is the small cafe at Fimber woods. Its just across the road from the Yorkshire Wolds railway preservation site. Its perhaps not as well known as Seaways cafe at Fridaythorpe just a few miles away, but does great cake and pies, made by one of the ladies who runs the place For those who have never been, its a wooden cabin in amongst the trees , the car park is loose stone and gravel so a modicum of care is required when riding in on your bike, especially if its been raining. Plus there is no indoor/undercover seating and I don't believe they do any hot food either, but the sausage rolls are nice and they have a selection of other savoury food if cake isn't your bag. Tea and coffee of course and toilets too. I popped in this morning for a brew, it was shortly after they had opened (10 am) so there weren't many people there, but its a nice sheltered place amongst the trees to sit and grab a brew and of course the prices are very reasonable.

It was much busier there this lunchtime, perhaps the sunshine brought more bikers out?
