I’d be more worried about getting the cuts right...

 

The volatiles of the brew distil off at different rates and times, so you split the distillate into various “cuts”... the first off are likely to be the likes of ethanol and risky to drink, the end cuts are the more oily liquors and again not wanted (though they will go nicely into the next brew) what you drink is a blend of the “middle cuts”

 

My beer making never recovered from the foaming gloop that leaked under the door during my oh so brief university career. I think there may have been a link

More recently my Cassis has been well received.

 

Only used kits and 2l plastic bottles after having issues with glass 745ml bottles blowing with ginger beer.
Quite enjoyed the process and the 6% product was popular for fishing trips

Quiet day today.... so I’ve just put 15 litres of parsnip and ginger wine on to brew and racked 5 litres of tart cherry wine off the fruits...

 

I had a go a brewing me own beer back in the day. Had a modicum of success, but found it much easier to get it from the off licence

I brew beer but only the cheats way out of a can. Only cost 60 quid to start and after the first batch its about 30p a pint.
You ve got a much more professional set up. I'm all plastic buckets and old Magners bottles.
The results are nicer than the bought stuff all the same.

 

Tried home brewing when I was a kid, it was a Geordie beer home brew kit, Gawd it was vile , never ever brewed again.
