Hi and welcome. I have just gone over to triumph after over 20 years on BMW gs twins, quality wise they are about the same (BMW have cheapened their bikes over the years, accountants in charge these days).
Both have their good and bad features but if i had to ride 500 miles in one hit BMW definitely has the edge over my speed triple in terms of comfort.

Had my Street Scrambler for a year and is great fun zipping around country roads... the slightly higher upright riding position for me at 5’ 11” is very comfortable and the 900 engine gives just the right power delivery for the size of bike...with good economy at 72 mpg. Not a fast A road or motorway bike unless you put a sizeable screen on but, (I think), that would spoil the essence of its appeal. If you’ve room in the garage get this AND the Speed Twin... am sure forum members can advise on suitable rationale for filling the space ... like its more economical to run a food freezer full than half empty!

Welcome to the Family. No good asking as if its in your head you are going to do it. Just have to decide on which model unless your head has already decided that to. Then you can join us all here in the Asylum. But to qualify we need a picture of the Steed.
    Ride Safe

    I have a 1200GSA which i love.
But I've just bought a 900 Street Scrambler for pottering and bimbling and shorter rides.
It's a lot smaller than the BM, easy and fun to ride and on back roads only a little slower.
