Well with the GMU in full soak I have checked the weather radar. There is a slick 200 miles long sliding SE to NW and it could dump pretty much anywhere at any time. Bellingham has been in the relative clear until about now. I have jobs to do but if the monsoon is not too bad hope to find you at St Mary's Loch for coffee or Moffat for lunch. Black & white T100 dripping.....
We'll keep an eye out, although it might be easier for you to recognise us. Loads of triumphs with a couple of B#Ws in tow!
Making no promises but if you are gloomily checking outside it should be easing off shortly. Better still, it looks like the worst of it is going to slide away just to the West of your route. Fingers crossed it will be wet or drying roads.......
Oh the waterproofs were fine.....it was the pint in each boot. The road home from Moffat was awash. Good to meet a few faces, albeit fleetingly.
HOME FROM THE GRAND MEET 2017 Brilliant what a weekend I had, thanks to Mr O for arranging all this and for finding what is a terrific bunkhouse and town everything on the doorstep so to speak, Big thanks to James for cooking the evening meal on Saturday night, we were all together and many took advantage of seconds although to be honest we never did the salad much justice Thanks to Rich for taking care of the raffle and to everybody for contributing to the 290 raised for Help the heroes. Special mention to John T and wife Lynne for bringing along some terrific prizes donated to the meet by Triumph Newcastle and for taking care of the barbecue on the Friday night (not to mention his Home made whiskey and black sambuca) Thanks to all there for contributing to the supply of alcohol over the weekend, I lost touch of exactly how much we got through but it all became a free for all, Thanks to all the members that came for making my weekend very memorable (for many reasons) and was great to meet you all, and to the members that couldn't make it I look forward to meeting you at another GMU. Finally I spoke to the lady that owns and runs the bunkhouse while she was replenishing the supply of bog rolls (always good to have ) she was most happy we had all enjoyed ourselves and welcomed us all back there. She had only one issue one of our members hadn't paid !!! after looking in her book she did mention his booking name was - Mr Ron Orr I believe this to be the same guy that mentioned to me that this whole weekend he managed to get by bringing only 11 quids worth of beer (can you believe it ). Not surprisingly he sounded Scottish Ride safe guys and I hope to see you all again.
Well said Tez! i got home a few hours ago, rained all the way home apart from the last 20 odd miles where it was blue sky and sunshine Great weekend..better go and wash the bike now
Hi every one. Dan and I made it home safe in Glasgow around 4pm. Under pouring rain, but we got used to that. It was a great pleasure to meet you all, to put faces on names, and to have fun And ride will all of you. A big thanks to anyone involved in anything done for the group (roads, food, raffle, keeping Diligaf in check ). Cheers to every one, and enjoy your Sunday night.
Could not have said it any better than this Tez, spot on. I got home at 08:20hs, dry all the way, although lots of fog early on, hope I did not wake anybody as I left. How did the Sunday ride go for those who stayed? Wessa
