Great platters  late to start your journey, but loving it @Vulpes.
Being a foody I’d love to know what the bacon/mushroom/crepe entree was

@Dartplayer you've got most of the ingredients, but the mushrooms were actually snails. Delicious!

Some poor bugger’s roof will spring a leak in the next storm…

@Vulpes thanks for the write up of your ride and photos.

You should write a book called “Bike Tours of the Alps - on a Budget”. A big budget…

    Amazing hotels and restaurants!

It would be nice to follow your route as it looks great.

After all the great food, did you find the bike settled lower on the suspension towards the end of the trip?

    It wasn't that bad, I don't think - I spent a total of € 1.040, that's £ 889 for a week.
£ 215 on fuel, £ 391 on hotels and £ 282 on food and drink.

That’s great value! I was expecting much much more as all your stops seemed to be of very high quality.

The most expensive hotel (Swiss, of course) was £ 93. The cheapest £ 43. On average £ 65 a night. In Italy and France food doesn't have to be expensive to be really good. I averaged £ 47 on food and drink a day.

Yes it is very pretty. Quality of the pictures not great compared to today’s, but you do get the feel of the town and surrounding area :)

It certainly looks like it was a great trip for you, @Vulpes! It was a great trip for me, too, and I wasn't even there. ;):joy: But I felt like I was thanks to your wonderful photos and narrative. Thanks so much for taking the time, thought, and energy to share your adventures with us. :kissing_heart: Now go have fun riding with Mrs. V! :grinning::heart:

Cheers @Sandi T , it was a pleasure. Like I said before, keeping a blog gives me a sense of purpose, too. I'm so glad so many people enjoyed it.
Mrs. V and I are off on our first proper ride-out together!
    Thanks for your kind words!
