The attire of the married couple would cause some controversy today, hence the reference to snowflakes. Try wearing that fur coat around town today and you would be confronted by any number of hostile people and comments, opinions etc, gone are some freedom of choices, it is not divisive it is an unfortunate fact of life today, you only have to look at how motorcycling is targeted on a number of fronts, MAG are doing great work and have influenced policies for the better that had been highly restrictive for bikers had they been imposed. And gosh could you imagine the reactions of people if the sidecar had a pet in the sidecar. Compulsory seat belts for the sidecar was one crazy proposal some time ago, leg shields for all motorcycles was another proposal. Ride safe all from an ageing Rocker.

 

To be honest, I wasn’t particularly offended in any way. However, your post reminded me what the careless use of pejorative terms like woke and snowflake did to this fine forum not that long ago. The fact remains that there’s a broad range of views and values here, and it doesn’t serve any purpose to alienate any element of the membership, even if it’s done unwittingly.

Anyway, as you were and I hope you’re enjoying the holiday.

Be mindful that use of the potentially offensive trigger word "broad," which is a crude, anachronistic, insulting and sexist term used to describe persons with a uterus and/or a vagina or a person who identifies as a non-cis male (a trans man who has a male assigned sex at birth but chooses a non-male gender identity) could be hurtful. A better choice of words would have been "wide", although if used in anatomical terms referring to hips, would be another trigger word that could be demeaning, requiring immediate retreat to a safe space. "Overarching" might better suited to convey your meaning. Please choose your words more carefully so as not to be accused of micro-aggression or violent semantics.

Let us maintain a modicum of decorum.
