    Not trying to be a killjoy or anything, but I don't remember much going on in the way of celebration for the 50th anniversary of VE day back in 1995 or the 25th anniversary for that matter (Yes, I am that old!). Lol.

    Our flag was flown on VE Day 1945 hoisted by my mother & grandmother up the flagpole they had in the front garden on the main road between Manchester and Rochdale ... I’ve kept the flag in the family and it was fitting to be able to display it for our 75th VE remembrance... albeit across the front of our garage and not unfortunately flying proudly from a flagpole... it’ll be out for VJ Day too on August 15th... any celebration of the ending of wars and conflict is a good thing to shout about in my book
