When I was racing I had a similar misting problem with a Shoei XR 1100 I finally cured it by taping a small piece of foam to the chin bar just above the vent so that the visor closed onto it although closed this meant that the visor was very slightly open where the foam was and cured the misting with no howling gale wind blast.

Not had a problem since I fitted a Pinlock but was terrible before.
Tried Rainex and it didn't really make a massive amount of difference to be honest.

I use a Pinlock in my Arai helmet and no matter how I adjust it I still end up with condensation between that and the visor which is really infuriating. I think the Pinlock maybe has a flaw in the silicon bead, but I'm not buying another to find out. So now I use the Pinlock in conjunction with a Respro Foggy Mask and that's cured the problem.

I use Fogtech DX, to be fair not on the visor as I always use pinlock inserts and they just work when correctly fitted. I use the Fogtech DX on my glasses after trying loads of stuff and IT DOES ACTUALLY WORK :) can't see it not also working on the visor as it's also designed for that.

head and shoulders shampoo or other anti dandruff shampoos a small amount applied to the inside then polished in dont use fairy liquid etc they contain salt which is deposited on the visor
for those who wish decry this cheap and cheerful solution can continue to spend there $$ or ££ on premium products.
give it a try what have you got to lose

+1, I am having the same issues with glasses. When stationary and breath out my glasses mist instantly and can't see anything, it's become so much of an issue I am going to try Contact Lens (appointment tonight) to see how things go. As for the GT Air, I have one, great helmet however I am finding it very noisy which came as a big surprise considering my last Shoei was much quieter.

    PS: I'm a washing up liquid fan:p.

If your pinlock is misting up, it's because it isn't sealing properly. I've found it can be quite tricky to get it to seal properly and I had to turn the asymmetric pins by trial and error until the insert sealed all the way round.

I'm still interested in this thread, though - I wear glasses and although the pinlock doesn't mist up, my glasses do!

When it is frosty or heavy rain, I use contact lenses - everybody is different but I find the most comfortable the Acuvue Oasys dailies - on occasion I have had them in from 7am to 11pm and they were fine.

No issues with the pinlock, mine was glasses however Red Thunder has confirmed that riding with contacts should be ok. I was worried that the contacts would dry and cause issues like sore eyes etc but things sound positive. The bonus being I can get the £850 back for glasses that have not been right from the start (long story). Thank you Red Thunder, your input has been very helpful

Well put littleade  :)I do like all the bells and whistles with my glasses, bargain really as I had two pairs for that dougho_O. I was a little worried regarding Contacts as I thought they may dry out over the day with the constant wind blowing, but having your and Red Thunder's comments have made my decision much easier. Thank you
