So, I finally opted for the SW Motech bag system as it appears the Triumph ones will not fit if the triumph aftermarket racer tail end has been fitted.
The motechs however, bolt to different points and can be fitted after a change in rear end.
    I've uploaded some images.
The frames are small and in keeping with the steel frame of the bike, so don't look too out of place without the bags attached.
Attaching the bags is with a nice lug and lock system. No straps required and takes a second only. There's no locking mech, so you would have to take the bags with you but that does not cause too much of a problem as they are not bulky or heavy.
The bags and mounts are very well made and finished. No complaints on production quality here.
When the weather improves and Boris allows us to make unnecessary journeys, I will test them out and report back for anyone who is interested.

    Thanks Julian,
They look good and must be useful day to day.
I researched the fitting and it appeared that the Triumph panniers are not compatible if the racer tail piece has been used. I opted for Motechs instead as shown.
Thanks for your thoughts and experience with the Triumph bags.

I’ve been to the shop and bought some eggs, pasta and milk. Panniers swallowed it all nicely.
I’m satisfied but worry that they’re not big enough for a trans global expedition. I will have to stay local instead!

Your bike looks the business I have the same set up: bars, fairing etc. And I find it’s a very comfortable position for all day riding. ( you can find elsewhere on this forum I’ve tweaked the suspension quite a lot). Enjoy it!

What’s the thread for the suspension settings?

There were two threads. The first is Thruxton R Suspension Mods and the second is Thruxton R Fork Oil Change.

Thanks that’s really helpful! I’ve been looking at the Hepco-Becker C bow option...anyone tried it??
