Two bob for a pint seems a bit steep. I was paying 1/9 down the Open Hearth for Watneys Red Barrell. 1/7 for Starlight, p1sh in a glass mind you. Two bob would leave you enough for a small bag of chips on the way home. I was a tad underage though, so might have been juniors' concession to get us addicted young. Beer, hmmm, very moreish. I recollect that decimilization weekend too. I did a Cancer and Polio draw collection round. Took me hours to explain to the old dears that two and half pee was the same as the old tanner and five pee no difference to a bob. Hi btw way young Bob. Another newbie here, but in my case a nostalgic old grizzled biker getting back in to it. Enjoy your riding young feller.
6 pints of Tetleys bitter and on the way home a blue whale & chips with curry sauce - all for a quid !! Remember it well.
