    My cable came from London Electric recommended on these forums: http://www.thetriumphforum.co.uk/threads/2000-s3-snatchy-throttle.7222/#post-72367
    I thought it wise not to skimp as these things can be fussy, hopefully yours will be fine.
    I didn't think the update would be that big a drain, but it sounds like putting on a charger might be wise.

    I have the same situation as you for working on the bike.
    I hope to get the pipe sorted by a local engineering place in readiness for spring.
    I was then going to attempt to fabricate my own bracket, having bought some materials.
    At the very least it could serve as dimensions pattern for an engineer if I can't get it to look right !
    But if one becomes available I will probably go for that. I am unsure if the stock hangar would fit an aftermarket, but I assume they must be in similar enough positions that it would, even if it requires some adjustment.

  2. I must admit I'm beginning to have reservations about the cheap cable now. I don't really know why I did that either as It's not like me to skimp but time will tell whether I've got away with it or not.

    Private message me your email address and I will forward you the email for the machined alloy bracket (with all the fixings) for £35 posted - it has a picture of it attached to the email.

  3. Well the £9 cable worked a treat, no issues at all and the re-map literally took five minutes. It was so quick I re-connected about 3 times just to make sure the ECU was showing the correct map, which it was.

    This is the cable I bought and can verify works;

    So the new exhaust is finally fitted now the total cost was...£180 New Triumph carbon oval silencer, £90 new Triumph "fitting kit" (AKA bracket and 2 bolts), £20 new Triumph exhaust clamp, £100 second hand (rocking horse poo) link pipe and £10 to have it professionally polished = £400! It has transformed the look, it is all genuine Triumph which is particularly what I wanted and it sounds awesome, if a bit too loud...:rolleyes:

    I have been looking for weeks for the same exhaust connector. If anyone has one or knows of one for sale, please let me know.

  5. Hi Nige,

    Yes, they are rare, it took me 10 months to find one. I did start another thread on it asking for expressions of interest in getting some copies made using my one as a pattern. I didn't get any response despite having a reasonable idea that there is a decent demand for the pipe. If 5 or so people make it known they want one I would be prepared to cost up copies of mine.

    Other than that I found mine in the end just by searching Triumph exhaust and trawling through as a lot of stuff is not well described and can easily be missed from a more specific search. Once you've gone through one you can keep doing the same search and put the items in newest listing first to keep on top of new listings. Good luck!

    I am so bleeding fed up of searching for one it's not true!! I am considering having one made. I may bolt the silencer on and take it to an exhaust fabricator to make one if I don't get any joy.

  7. This is what it looks like to help with your search;

    Thanks.
    No springs on my exhaust though. I also bought a new silencer thinking it would be easy to find the pipe...
