Glad to see you up on your feet again so soon @Sandi T. , clearly you can't keep a good woman down! :p

Plenty of incentives, at least 4 of them have engines! :)

When is the last time you drove a 'shift stick'?
I have an auto, my wife has a manual, when I drive her car she often shouts 'clutch' when I am approaching traffic lights wondering why the car is juddering ... because I left it in top gear DOH! o_O

Dinna fesh thasen ar kid. Ne' er werrit abaht it, d'st 'ear? ;)*

"foos yer doos' is literally 'how's your pigeons', but more a way of saying 'how you doing?' usual answer would be 'peck'n awa' or 'I'm fine'

I know a guy called 'Stumpy Doofleer' feched if I know his real name, always been Stumpy to me... Doofleer because he keeps pigeons (dove flyer) and Stumpy cis he got his land rover wedged on a tree stump one off road day.

A 'doo' is a pigeon, racing, or common shit on your car variety. A Blue Doo is a wood pigeon.

    Lesson over! :)

*Browt oop near Macc, me. Worked wi a lorra owd lads from South Cheshire, d'st ear? Dad was ex Seaforth Highlanders though, mother was from 'spit spit' crewe, lawks save us.

Aye, okay, I've had a few this evenin, orrite?

Yes, @Bad Billy, as incentives in the primary ones are motorized! I have not driven a stick shift car in decades. I grew up driving tractors, my dad's jeep, and a little 70s version of Ford's Mustang. So there may be a bit of a learning curve. Perhaps I'll drive around our cul-de-sac a few times before heading out on the open road. Mr. Sandi did kill it one time at an intersection yesterday on our ride home from the dealership. But he is definitely a one trial learner and the rest of the ride just fine.:)

I was hoping being a motorcyclist would help with shifting but it sounds like you still sometimes forget you're driving a stick when you're in your wife's car. :p So I will make note of that and do my best to keep both my brain and the clutch engaged when I start driving my Mustang. :)

Yikes, @Big Sandy! I've wanted to learn a second language but I'm not sure this is the one for me. I do appreciate the lesson, however. :) I think the one thing I shall most remember from this particular lesson is this. "A 'doo' is a pigeon, racing, or common shit on your car variety." Especially the "shit on your car" part. :(:scream:

When riding a Motorcycle my mind is always fully engaged with the ride :scream:, unfortunately when driving round in a box with radio, passengers & other distractions I don't quite have the same level of engagement , if I were to drive a manual longer that a couple of miles I am sure it would become second nature again. :p

I’ve recently gone from a manual car to an automatic, my reason was due to my arthritis getting worse and the auto is so much easier to drive. I do miss actually driving, but it is a needs must decision..

I agree, Billy! When I ride my motorcycles I'm fully engaged for a number of reasons including the shifting. And one of the reasons I've wanted a manual transmission car is so that I'm more like that when I'm driving. It's very easy to get lackadaisical in an automatic, at least for me. When I'm driving I want to be driving. Not drinking coffee, focusing on the radio, daydreaming. etc. Plus I really enjoy shifting! Automatic motorcycles have never interested me one bit. Now if I needed an automatic because of arthritis or something like that such as what @Wessa said, that would be another story. But currently I'm lucky that's not the case. Well, actually at this very moment it is the case with my left arm in a sling. But, you know what I mean. ;)

Nah! Driving to me is a necessary evil , cars have never exited me the way bikes do :imp:, I have been in automatics for years, so much more relaxing to drive, what makes me laugh is they started giving you flappy paddles on autos to change gear yourself a few years back ... I was dumbfounded , why spec auto box then change gear yourself? :dizzy:

Sandi, in the UK driving as you would like to ;), simply doesn't happen, too much traffic, too many idiots & far too many speed cameras & unmarked police cars , so I'll take the easy relaxing option for me, I get my kicks out on track on the bike, but if I lived in a very sparsely populated area with great roads then I would enjoy a Mustang like yours :p.

I love the American West, Billy. For many reasons including lots wide open spaces and terrific back roads. :):heart:
