I sold my CB550 recently, here's a few I had from the 70's and 80's, I won't bore you with the more modern stuff.

I remember my mates big brother having one of them in blue, it was 1976 I was 15 and thought it was the coolest bike in the world! Never got to ride one but would have liked to. :)

Absolutely, we need toys. I remember these being popular in late 70s and they sparked my interest in bikes. It is great to see so many of this model still around and have been well restored. That is a fantastic example you have in every detail, even has the rubber tips on the levers, stunning bike Pedro.

Try and get them in order. Had some at the same time and have left off current Rocket GT and GS Exclusive

Rebuilding FXR's has been my hobby the last few years. Sold the orange one to a collector. Just sold the silver one a little over a week ago and bought the Bonneville two days later. The black one is for sale on Cycletrader & FB marketplace.

Beautiful Bonnie, @Aceofharps! But what will you do without an FXR?! ;)

As rebuilding FXR's has been a hobby of yours, can you recommend any particularly good books or websites to read about FXR history and styling that is true to FXR models back in the day? Thanks!

There's a pretty good chance I'll be buying another FXR for a Winter project.
Allan Girdler's "Illustrated Harley-Davidson Buyers Guide" contains 20 pages of FXR info and my copy was printed in 1992, two years before FXR production ended.

Thanks, @Aceofharps! I found this easily on Amazon by copying and pasting the title and author from your post. Took me all of about 30 seconds. I truly appreciate the reference. :) Good luck finding another FXR for a winter project. i'd love to see some photos!! :grinning: Before, during, and after!

GPZ 600R was a great bike and the Z1000 in fact they all had something about them that was good, the ZZR1100 was barge but bloody fast while the CX500 plastic magic was a useful step up from a learner 125
