Newbie question.... Going to road test the speed RS was very tempted last weekend by the Black but my concern is over time I am not convinced it will look as good as the white. Any advice would be good
If you was tempted by the black but go ahead and buy the white you'll always wish you had bought the black. But if you buy the black and the paint gets damaged you'll wish you'd bought the white. Hope that helps.
I think that it's fair to say that black will require some extra care to keep it in good order - but if you're careful and use good products to maintain it (I swear by this) it should be OK. I ended up changing my order from black to white, and feel I made the right decision (the white polishes up beautifully). At the end of the day, you've got to go your own way - just make sure you buy an RS!
Do you find the spray maintains the finish? is it best to treat the bike first? I've only ever had bikes with high gloss paint which I way i'm unsure which way to go. I know the white will look as perfect in 3 years but the blacks a tempting thought. The only decision I've made so far is it will be an RS not the S
I used it on my previous Matt Graphite R, but also on my son's current Matt Phantom Black Daytona. The Daytona is a metallic matt finish, rather than flat, but the spray removes and prevents any sign of smears, streaks and finger marks. It does leave a surface that protects, but it obviously won't stop scratches. It definitely makes it easier to look after and the Daytona is is perfect shape...2.5 years and around 8,000 miles on.
A wise choice, which I'm sure you won't regret. Mind you, you wouldn't have regretted the black either
Was very tempted, as you say either would still be a good choice but I think the white also looks amazing. The test ride did its job a simple decision from then with the toys on etc I'm sure it will be fun.
Beautiful bike mate and love the personal touches you have added! Just purchased my own, also in white. Cant wait!!! Dealers said i could expect it to arrive late June I am currently looking at some tail tidy's, what do you think of Evotech Tail tidy?
Thanks Joten - and congratulations on a great choice of your own! You'll love it In my opinion, Evotech is the only way to go. I started with an R&G on my old bike, but then swapped it for the beautifully engineered and well thought out Evotech. There's really no comparison
Thank you BG! Did you have one from an earlier bike or did you puchase a new one? There is different part.nb on their website for the 2018 and 2016/17 models.
I had Bill Smith triumph fit it pre delivery, I collected the bike last Saturday and done 235 miles in lovely sunshine and the bikes brilliant, the whites stunning and the tail tidy just finishes the job. Bill Smith advised me they said it was the cleanest fit. It's on the Evotech website. Quickshifter and heated grips are being fitted at the 500 mile service so a few more revs available then.
