I see they don't mention valve overlap, which is typically tuned for effective scavenging at high rpm. Could there be an optimised situation for bmep at lower revs with the longer rear section I wonder / helped by a baffle if pipe is shorter ?

I was watching tv last night flicking channels and there was a program on women's orgasms etc. Apparently a woman's orgasm is 10x as strong as a man's. If a man was to experience the strength of orgasm a woman does, he may not be able to cope and it could even kill him ! Apparently its all those nerve endings in the critoris (Japanese version) but they also mentioned that women can have orgasms by many different means (some excluding the critoris....??)
Hey, I was just watching and learning and can only hope I don't have the unfortunate experience of having such a dangerous orgasm.

If I did some tests on this I feel I might come up with different "facts" to the lady expert in the program ;)

You can't beat actual experience to confirm stuff !

I get the feeling that ellerslie thinks it may not be due to back pressure......:p:D

I'm just totally confused and at a loss as to whether to a) do something or b) do nothing. With that in mind, I've plugged in my Optimate charger and locked the garage.

I also suspect that a certain person has misunderstood where I'm actually inserting the baffle - so just to reiterate, it's well away from the critoris and it hasn't caused an orgasm. Yet o_O

Do you need to torque the screws, if so what is the setting?

No doubt there is a standard setting but nip them up should be ok . Not like your sump plug or axle nut in terms of safety.

There's no specific torque setting - you just don't want them vibrating loose. Hand tight + a quarter turn is what I stick to...however, the three long bolts that secure it, do reach a stop. Work round the three bolts several times, to tighten them evenly.

It's worth tightening all the 'fake' short bolts too - mine were all loose.

...and there's a fourth long bolt inside the original filler cap that you remove and discard.

TOP TIP - Take great care not to drop the bolts in your fuel tank (it has to be open to remove that fourth bolt)...it's worth plugging the hole with paper towel. :D

That's a good trick to keep from losing the mounting bolts down in the tank.

Something I've always done regarding fasteners on bikes is to add a drop of low strenght thread locking fluid to the threads. Permatex or Wurth brands both work equally well in keeping fasteners from vibrating loose w/o over tightening, but can still be easily removed with hand tools.

Here's something interesting for tech fans in the Spring...the Triumph TFT Connectivity System o_O

It's compatible with the RS TFT screen once a dealer-supplied Bluetooth module is fitted (no cost details yet) and it allows GoPro control (not excited), Music and Phone operation (not excited) and Turn-by-Turn Navigation (slightly excited).

    There's an app too.

So I’ve been looking at exhausts for the my RS, nothing else floats my boat as much as the low boy, I know arrow don’t do one for the RS so I bought a can only on eBay and I’m taking it to a local firm to make a link pipe, I’ll update further down the line to see if it looks/sounds decent.

I think the under seat Arrow cans are very similar to the low boy can and could possibly be used in place and linked to the cat with a short pipe and a fabricated mounting bracket to the right hand footrest bolts.
Could possibly pick up a cheap pair with a damaged left hand can.

Christmas modification - small but effective.

The instructions on the back of the box say that they must only be fitted by a trained Triumph Technician. I figured I could manage (although I was unsure which one was supposed to be fitted at the back...but hopefully it won't make too much difference).

I'm thinking that I might call in the New Year and see if I can book it in to have them done properly :yum

Move the bike 1mtr, inspect, and I think you'll find you've fitted that cap upside down. ;)

It's annoying when amateurs work on their own bikes, then do nothing but complain when it all goes wrong:mad:

It seems that you're right. I'm definitely going to book it in with Service - although it can be tricky to diagnose this kind of intermittent fault.

If Rolls Royce can keep there hubcap badge the right way up all the time then surely Triumph should make more effort with there valve covers :)
