Tried last night and got the right one in straight away Couldn’t get the left lense in Had to give up And then couldn’t get the right one out again Had to get my wife to get it out again What a bloody carry on Have managed to get both in tonight Sitting using my phone with no glasses Feels a bit uncomfortable and a bit blurry but they’re working and obviously it’s gonna take some getting used to
Got in from work tonight and got my contacts straight in Just been upstairs and managed to get them straight out Dropped one on the floor but hey that’s the first time I’ve managed to do it all by myself I’m a big boy now Was at the opticians yesterday to see how I’m getting on with them and had an eye test Two levels better than 20/20 vision That’ll do me Planning to wear them for work next week and hopefully that’ll be the glasses in the bin Happy days
Rode the bike today...first time with contacts in turns out I’ve been speeding everywhere Makes a lot of difference (slower) being able to see the speedo
To Dill, If you wear an open face lid be careful as the wind blast will dry out your eyes and take away the natural lube (tears) result being eyes that feel like they are full of sand.
Just been to the opticians Been struggling with the contacts I’ve been wearing My eyes just couldn’t adapt to having different lenses it was like they were in competition with each other resulting in a sort of blur a bit like looking through wet glass So now I’ve got new lenses which are the same for both eyes....a bit like vary focal glasses As soon as I put them in WOW WOW and double WOW Everything is in high definition Been told that it will take a few days for my eyes to settle down but I can’t believe the difference HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY

I wear bifocals and I have a terrible time getting used to new glasses. It takes me about 2 weeks before they stop giving me headaches and making me nauseous. I don't really have any problems with seeing things because I get the reading part of my lenses adjusted to read correctly at 22" which is how far I sit from the computer screen. The doctors typically set them for about 12" to 14". It also works for the motorcycle and I can even see the cans on the shelves at the grocery store That might be a fix for your situation. I looked into Lasik and they told me they couldn't do it because I have a strong astigmatism.
That’s it I’ve had enough Decided to not wear contacts ever again Just can’t get on with them anymore Been struggling to put them in and struggling even more to get them out The last straw was this morning after putting them in before going to work and they just wouldn’t settle down Decided to take them out and couldn’t get the right one out Started loosing my temper and nearly pulled the front of my feckin eye off THATS IT NEVER AGAIN
Bin em I've just started with glasses. I hate em ,except when there on. No way would I go about with lenses either.
Have to wear glasses now, for distance. There is no way I could put anything in my eye, whether it's meant to be there or not. If I do get something in my eye, someone getting close to remove freaks me out. The last time in A&E to get bit of rust out, they were talking of sedating me so I wouldn't move. In the end, it took three of them to hold me still !!!!!!
Nasty. Last time I failed to wear safety glasses and got swarf in my eye I had it out in nanoseconds with a magnet. Should work for rust too.....aluminium not so much!
I've had contacts for a good 40 (! ) years now - I really could not get used to wearing glasses again. Mind you, I do need spectacles for reading these days...
Just been back over this thread to work out when I started with contacts JANUARY FFS Nope they’re obviously not for me! Should’ve mastered the technique of putting them in and removing by now Can’t be arsed anymore Don’t ride in front of me I can’t see you
That's cos I'm so much quicker on a bike than you, nowt to do with your crap eyes I can't ride slow enough to be behind you!!!
