I took the cover off with the view of fitting Givi engine bars to my street twin, then it clouded over so thought better of it,(bikes outside )I have new LED indicators ,Triumph levers and black alloy stantion tubes that need to be fitted.Looked at the Speed 400X yesterday, very nice indeed, would suit me really at 72 with back issues but the Street twin looks and sounds so good,i have fitted so many bits and drilled out the standard exhausts baffles,i will keep it for as long as possible ! What lathe you got @Dustywheels ? Here's mine, Boxford Industrial, running on 3 phase off a rotary phase convertor.
Helmut and I had a nice ride out to The Piston Club today; just over 100 miles and we even managed to get back just as the rain started which is a small win. The Striple is FILTHY though from the wet roads, but I have left it as we're likely out again tomorrow and it's pouring with rain now.
Today we went to the first meet of the year at HR4K which is pretty local to us; the turn out wasn’t bad for a damp weekend in February!
Managed to get a short ride in. Over the hill to Bolton Abbey, Parcevall hall, Greenhow, Pateley Bridge, lofthouse, Leyburn, Reeth, Tan Hill, Buttertubs, Fleet moss and back down Wharfedale. Great to be out even if only a short 120 miles. The bike took some cleaning though.
We got another three inches of snow the other day. Temps are in the thirties. The roads are pretty clear, but there are icy patches. So, what am I doing with my Triumph today? I'm sitting on it in the garage making vroom, vroom noises.
Hi, managed to fit Givi engine bars to my Street twin after two previous failed attempts today.Feb 24th The 17mm nuts on the inside are a pain to get at !. OApete.UK
Triumph brand "highway bars" were no picnic fitting on the Speedmaster either. Had a hell of a time. I got out today for a bit. It felt great. Temps are starting to moderate. It was in the mid 60s. Spring is on the horizon, but I'm not breaking out my swim trunks yet. We could still get clobbered. One of the worst blizzards we ever had was in April '77. Mother nature can be cruel.
Glad you were able to get out for a bit of a ride in February, @Fork Lock! Having grown up in Minnesota, I know what you mean when you say you could still get clobbered. I remember a blizzard in early May one year! That's just wrong. The only saving grace was that we knew that at least the snow would melt fast.
gave my tiger a good wash to get all the bloody salt off from yesterdays runout. was a bit chilly but heated grips make all the difference

Thought I would change my exhaust again, took off the Yoshimura and put on my Scorpion Ceramic, I do have the Scorpion stainless steel exhaust as well but prefer the black. It only takes 10 minutes to remove the Yoshimura and 10 minutes to fit the scorpion. All that is needed once fitted, is run the engine until the fan kicks in, the EMU then reads the new emissions and you are good to go, remember if you remove the baffle at a later stage, then you need to go through the procedure again as the emissions alter and affect running.
Hi all, wrapped fork stanchions with Black wrap something i have wanted to try out for quite a while.Worked just fine, albeit fiddly. Also shows black 6mm car trim around the bottom rim of the tank, finishes it off neatly. Ride safe,OApete,UK
Oil and filter changed on the STRS this afternoon, I'm going to tax all my bikes this coming week before the budget as I'm sure all the road tax rates will go up.......again!
I haven't been out on my Speed Triple in awhile so convinced my hubby, Steve, to join me for a little ride this afternoon. We decided to try a Mexican restaurant we've never been to--Carlota's. It's in a little town called Catalina that's about 20 miles north of our house and on the way to several other ride-to-food destinations I've reported here previously. Well, it may have been our first time to Carlota's but it definitely won't be our last! The food was terrific and the atmosphere delightful. A terrific afternoon--motorcycles, sunny skies & 70ºF, Mexican food, and hanging with my sweetie. Steve had chicken fajitas with rice and beans. I had chicken stuffed avocados which was very unique and very delicious! There were lots of other goodies in the "stuffing" in addition to the chicken--Mexican cheese, read and green peppers, and lots of yummy Mexican spices. I accompanied it with black beans. Definitely a dish I'd order again! Diet Cokes since we were riding. Well, that plus they didn't have any of their draft beers on tap for some reason. Probably for the best. Back home in the garage.......
Hello Everyone I got the OEM rear-sets powder-coated in Gloss black and ceramic coated. Many thanks H
