    Struggling a bit today so needed a bit of therapy. Just a gentle hour or so on local lanes. IMG_20201005_144137056_HDR_compress71.jpg IMG_20201005_144157442_HDR_compress3.jpg

    Mostly for the look.But they also have some ability to make the engine run a bit cooler,so I'm led to believe.

    Well I got in the garage put the bike on my paddock stand with the intention of taking the back wheel off, regreasing shaft if needed etc and no squeak, not off the stand or on it?
    I carefully painted some high temperature nickel grease on the outer dust seals anyway.
    I did notice that when the back wheel is rotated in the stand the back brake disc rubs on the pads in a certain area. It is clear for most of the revolution just one area. Is this something I should be worried about?
    As I have mentioned before there is a 0.8mm difference between one side and the other. This was using a digital ruler and measuring between the chain adjuster bolts and lock nuts and therefore a slight difference in the circular marks. I personally thought 0.8mm was so small a difference that it would not be the cause and difficult to get spot on each side.
    I can't imagine the disc is warped ...anyone else have a disc that rubs ?

    Mine does a bit sometimes. I also get all sorts of creaks and squeaks and pings from brakes, suspension, mudgards and who knows what else. Stopped worying about them after the first year. By now, after more than two years and 23k miles riding on mostly country lanes I think it's OK for the bike to creak and squeak as much as I do ;)

    Lol...yes..I had creaks and squeaks on my Harleys as well, just slightly paranoid as the bike is new and I got rear end shunted at 888 miles..repair was done at a Triumph dealership who checked and repaired....I think I will just chill and live with it ...My front brakes rub a tiny bit too but its normal I think. Thanks for feedback though, safe riding

    Happy birthday @Koko55.:grinning::party:
    I'm not a lover of bandaged exhausts as way back in the (swingin') sixties we used to do it to cover up a multitude of sins, aka rust:(, and that is my abiding memory of the stuff. But times changeo_O, and I'm an old fart who really should try to keep up:confused:! Thankfully we all like different things which keeps life interesting!:grinning:
    Hope you've had a great day!!:D

    Nothing to be bothered about and removing the pads and making a leading and trailing edge on the pads with a file can help with noise but i wouldn't bother :)

    Had the Thruxton fully serviced, heated grips fitted, auxiliary power socket installed under the left side throttle body, new hollow headstock nut fitted to take the Quadlock fork stem mount, and sidestand spring replaced as an outstanding recall item.

    Now I just need the bloody rain to stop!

    I had problem on my thunderbird lt. Basically caused by a tyre change at a local garage. They damaged it when they had the wheel of the bike. They changed it thankfully. So yes they can get warped.
