I organised a group to ride down to our founding chapters dice run, one of our favourite annual events.
Ride down to Morrinsville with 5 Auckland members to meet with guys from Northland, Waikato, and Bay of Plenty chapters. Great backroads at pace from there :sun::party:

I managed to record the ride, which showed why the police flashed lights at us first and then the next one turned their flashers on :imp: Good they left the group (12 bikes) alone, but the police presence for the dice run was heavy.

I had a squeak in my rear wheel when gassing up, which I thought was dry brakes, sadly it was the rear outside bearing :poop::scream:. Luckily I felt it slowly going, and nursed the bike to a property close to our meeting spot The Backyard Bar in Whatawhata.
This required having to ride pillion on my mates Rocket home, which was good of him but very painful, as with both big guys
I managed to buy a bearing kit and borrow a trailer a rescue the bike this week. Installed the bearings today, ready to assemble back on the bike.

If it's any consolation the weather in the UK has been wet wet wet with more rain overnight and at least you've got the summer to look forward to ;)

A very wise decision to leave your bike and blag a lift home there Dartplayer. That bearing looks fubared and very close to a catastrophic failure!
Apart from that, a great event.:grinning:

Thanks, no good for your riding, but what we had for the last 18 months.
Related to recent volcanic eruptions (apparently) :p
It was great to get 2 weeks with just one wet day, especially with the dice run on :sun::cool:

Agreed, could have been much worse and potentially should have stopped 5km earlier, but ended well.
Noted that All Balls kit didn’t have the cushdrive roller bearing, so greased and will look to source from Triumph for the future

Thanks, was best weekend for a while with great group to ride with, even with bearing issue.
One rider loaned me his bike trailer to go and pick up my ride and another put me up for the night in his log cabin, so adventure all round  Fingers crossed for belt alignment tomorrow when weather improves

Even better, he is an engineer who specialises in Triumph/Norton/BSA exhaust headers/pipes/mufflers with 20+ years building tooling.
I really enjoyed his workshop with custom built pipe bender and press. Another advantage of riding with a national club is meeting good Triumph people who love to ride :heart:
There was a stroked Trident in my bedroom

After some faffing around to get the brake calliper aligned and the lugs not falling out, I have relocated the wheel and tightened the belt to the marks on the nuts :cool:

Looks like a great event, @Dartplayer! :) Quick question--what does "Bears Bikes Only" mean?
