Worst Roundabout in the World Award

Look up Magic Roundabout in Swindon....

Here it is

 

There was one like this in Benfleet, Essex, in fact I think it was the 1st like it, but I think its been altered now.

 

I've driven a car round that. It's bonkers

 

I've been round the magic roundabout several times, the first time is terrifying because you have cars that look like they're coming towards you. Once you get used to it it's just scary!

Thankfully I no longer have to visit that part of the world.

Why is that more effective than a normal round about

 

If you look has three lanes that can all be used, so should flow more traffic....theory says!

 

so wont a 3 lane roundabout do the same We have a round about up here in the big town

 

Here is Colchester's pride and joy. Works well if you know what you are doing, otherwise it is terrifying.

 

Here is my local nightmare, for some reason, driving instructors love taking their students on here, every junction has a traffic light and the surface is always deteriorating - the roads on the moon are smoother!

 

Although at this roundabout it seems a lorry has taken a direct shortcut - it is in London at the junction with Lambeth Bridge

 

I'd throw in any in the States, mostly because few of us yanks have a clue how to use them. I learned very quickly when I spent a month riding in the UK two years ago!

 

Several times I entered the round about by the Arch d Triumph in Paris on a Friday afternoon at rush hour. Talk about bedlam.
