Thruxton World Components?

    Triumph sells partly (or mostly) on it's British Made claim. Which is fair enough, but how much actually is British? Primarily the Thruxton R, but any make/model would be good to know about.

    I know Brembo is Italian, Showa is Japanese... but what else is from where?

    This is partly idle interest, but also part of an argument^x^x^xgentlemanly discussion on another forum, where I was strung up as a traitor for saying I loved my old Beemer - "Buy British or you're a turncoat" was the underlying theme. So anything Triumph use that is German in origin would be interesting.

    There's no such thing as a bike that is 100% British, German,Austrian American or Japanese these days.
    Suspension,brakes , nuts and bolts etc are sourced from wherever a manufacturer finds the best price.
    So parts may be designed by Brembo etc but could quite easily have been made in the Far East in places such as Thailand, Taiwan, China etc.
    Triump have manufacturing plants in Thailand IIRC and only a few bikes are exclusely manufactured in the UK now.
    The rocket was one of those. I think the Thunderbirds are made here. Most manufacturers work in the same way.
    I currently have a few spare parts here for my Thunderbird and they are clearly marked made in Germany.

    Well strictly speaking Triumph is German in origin as it was founded by Siegfried Bettman in 1902 who emigrated to Coventry from Nuremberg. He also founded a sister Triumph company in Germany for some time - Triumph-Werke Nürnberg AG.
