I remember seeing Bazza ride his last race in the UK which he won riding a Fred Walmsley built Manx Norton It was a International Classic race at the 2002 British GP held a Donington Park. The race was I suppose a support race and was held at the end of the day. I remember feeling annoyed that most of the spectators had already left the circuit by the time that Bazza started his last race, all they were interested in was Rossi and couldn’t stop 30 mins to see and show respect to one of GB’s great in action. At the Old Hairpin where I was there were possibly only 10 spectators max. On his slowing down lap as he came down Craner Curves he undid and removed his crash helmet and slowed right down and waved vigorously to us few spectators at the Old Hairpin. It’s one of the great memories that I have of motorcycle racing
me and my mates had a chat with him I think it was Mallory park in those days you could just walk round the pits and speak to them legend.
