Bad Billy. Where did you get the cheap from. There's the fee's then he will probably go through up to £1000 on tyres and services each meet plus all other expenses like transport food. No its not cheap but it is addictive. Those bikes need some maintenance and if you miss then the things will pop the engine with you. But good luck to him. The other thing is to slow is as bad as to quick. Probably see you at the meets when I go with my Son who is addicted aswel. Ride Safe. Joe.
Bill Not being funny or that and wish your mate the best. He will love it and as we know he addicted now so he's has got to do it. No my boy won't be riding as he moved up to the Ducati tri option. He will be there though supporting the boys he raced with last season. But if you are going throughout the season I will make a point of letting you know and perhaps we can have a cuppa together. Regards Joe
Yes sorry to say the boy won't make it this year as he and the owner of the Ducati's have parted company. Due to the fact they could not see eye to eye and didn't want to alter the bikes to suit my boy and it would have ended up where he paid for every thing. So unless we can find him a bike he's out. Ride safe Joe.
I had that bullshit some years ago when I was offered a 500 Honda ride for the,as it was then, Manx gp. The deal was I just ride the bike, nothing to pay for and no spannering so I snapped his hand off, all fine and dandy until I asked for the bike to check it over (torque settings, lockwiring etc) basically I had more chance of platting fog! You would have thought I'd asked to sleep with his wife or daughter the response from him. No chance don't you trust my work? I said it's me that will be going down Bray hill flat out so unless I know how the bike has been put together no deal! Needless to say neither the Honda or me went to the Manx. Hope your lad gets sorted with a ride.
Pete. I know and feel every thing you have said. My boy is on that bike. What makes it even worse the owner had a spanner man there that didn't even get of his seat. All they did was pinch my boy's tyres when he said he would not race their bikes. Believe me I really don't want to have him racing but I know how he feels. He doesn't know how to slow down. Did you ever follow up with any one else. It's so expensive unless you have sponsorship your lost. I seen the boy last year trying to keep his 675 running he would sit up all night Saturday to have it ready for Sunday. But they are all nice boys different camerady among them till they are on track. But thanks for agreeing with me I will show him this post and perhaps he will see it happens to others aswel. Ride Safe Joe. Pete PS was his Wife good looking
Hi Joe, I can't agree more with what you are saying! The wife mmm! 12 pints comes to mind. Re your lad has he thought about Classic racing? It's still not cheap but might be an option especially if he can rattle a few cages. Hope this helps. P.S. I never got to meet the daughter.
Pete. Was that the more you drank the better she looked. But yes I am looking. And I know you have been there yourself with let down's We will get there. He's good at it so maybe there's next season. Regards & Thanks Joe.
Bill. Yes it is not to mention dangerous. But I believe I believe he resigned himself to the fact it's not going to happen this year. No dough he'll be back next season. He is throwing all his energy into his new company this year to try to get it of the ground so that will keep him busy. But thanks. Regards Joe.
Get yourself there B.B. it’s a lovely circuit overlooking the Irish Sea. But it can be a pain to get there though.
Unfortunately I will most probably be at my local circuit Oulton Park just up the road, about 4miles. I think the NG Club are at Oulton in October.
It is a terrific circuit. Mind you depending on where you stay some locals can be right funny. Last time we were there we stopped at a pup to ask directions to our b & b. The land lord was rude to my Boy when he ask for a drink he said we don't sell that so the boy said he would accept something else and was told we don't sell that either go home you are not welcome. We left to be followed by about five Locals singing and shouting at us. I said to the boy that's it I'm not having this. I turned and said you lot got a problem. They starting smiling and said you're Irish you're welcome and directed us. The rest of the time we were greeted with welcome arms. It is a terrific area and I got my chance to climb up Snowden the easy way of course it was terrific. But wish him lots of luck. Regards Joe
Hello mate, hope you're feeling a little less sore, how did Dave get on at the weekend, the neighbours daughter was the fastest 600 of the weekend but she suffered a few setbacks, back markers and having to start once from the pit lane, she's doing good though.
You're a bit sore then mate, ouch. Sounds like Dave was doing well despite the technical issues, will he be racing at Castle Combe at the beginning of September, all things being well I hope to be there to cheer on the neighbours daughter so will look out for him if he is.
