Cumbria, or possibly New Zealand. Wires from a 1967 t120 can be indecisive and fickle.

How about posting some pictures and following back the wires to their source.

Please excuse my apparent flippant comment. But it’s been a long day (not your fault) and you didn’t give us information to work with.

    Welcome by the way!

We like new people here, even if idiots like me get snappy if having a bad day.

The pair of wires with a plug on the end are coming from the engine ,I can assume they must be something to do with the stator

Stator, oil pressure switch or to your points plate are the only three options I believe.

So definitely not say a battery conditioning/charging point?

Think there coming from the stator inside the engine ,don’t go to points plate already got wires to them

If the wires are on the stator side, and go into the engine block, they’re your stator wires.

Odd, I can’t think what they would be then.

It’s no like the bike is likely to have a ‘winter’ pack that preheats the engine or anything.

Id be interested to find out what you discover.

maybe ask a dealer if they know or try looking at a manual/exploded diagram of engine and electrics.

The only other option, is if a PO has mounted a Flux Capacitor somewhere inside the cases ;). Welcome to the forum BTW

Is the bike stock or upgraded electrics?

No just a stock bike ,when I pulled the engine out the wires came with the engine so can only assume they are connected to the stator inside the engine ,there is a plastic plug point at the end of the wires,I remember unplugging a longer lead with a black and red wire but can’t for the life of me remember where I unplugged them from

Well, I’d suggest a manual with schematics to start. It’ll get you familiar with where and what everything does/is located. You shouldn’t have too many options on that old bike to plug wires together.

This is a schematic from a Unit T100 manual which lists T120R options. May help a bit for factory wiring. Most of these bikes are far from “factory” wiring/electronics unless you’re the original owner. I have a T120 manual around here somewhere also. These were ordered from British Cycle Supply quite a few years ago. They’re actual Triumph manuals, not Haynes. Definitely a valuable source of info when tearing down a motorcycle!

They go to your rectifier from stator, although the colours sound off. Possibly redone by someone.
