Hi I'm a newbie living in Ireland but from Essex been here for 16 years now . I always had bikes from 17 onwards until that faithful day I met my true love . The bike had to go for the sake of wedding bells and a move to Ireland was my destany. I could only dream of bikes as bikes were not part of my wife's plans need I say more. Anyway cut a long story short I have part exchanged the wife for a thunderbird 900' she's a bit rough but then again so was the wife. But overall I'm made up with her. For the first time in a long time I feel free again. We bonded when we met, we both had a something in common. We were both mistreated and needed some attention. And so starts my new love affair. This is one bike I can't wait to ride off into the sunset with, happy days my friends.
Yo Wayne from Yorkshire, welcome aboard, been there done that. Liked Southern Ireland on the bike, never got to North yet. Bonnie T100 SE here with the odd HD thrown in.
Hello Wayne and welcome. What a great introduction - sometimes life sucks eh? But sometimes, when you get the fundamentals just right (such as a great bike), life takes on a much better view. Good luck with your newbie and when you're ready, let's see some pics.
Cheers for that. Yes some great places to ride here ,Around Kerry and the west the roads and veiws are stunning.
A few years ago me and 'er indoors, together with another couple, did a weeks tour along the south coast of the Emerald Isle and it was beautiful and everyone we met were really great.I now fully understand why 'green is the colour' as we a drop or two of rain. Still lovely tho'
Yes, i live in the south east its nice but nothing like the west side. The poeple here are great your welcome everywhere and yes we do get the odd spot of rain but when the sun shines you wouldnt want to be anywhere else.
welcome to the forum , sounds like an epic love story . I've been to Northern Ireland a few times , lovely country , my favourite area is around Portaferry, but never to the south as yet .
Thanks half ton , I'm up for the p*ss taking so was my wife!! Yes the blue done it for me, she's a lot worse than the picture shows, the tanks been keyed seat ripped, tyres bold, rust everywhere, alloy corroded, but ahh I'm happy, she's down to the frame and engine now, like all relationships they take a lot of work.
Well Ade, I must have gone to the same place as you did for the exchange. I didn't read the terms and conditions nether. The exchange rates are shocking. But ah, it's only money. Happiness is much more enjoyable. I was at the stage where a puch maxi would have been a good deal. Life is to short without a bike. Cheers Ade sounds like I'm not alone.
Welcome Wayne, would you be planing baby thunderbirdettes with your new thrusting family? We don't do much sarcasm here............
Welcome in Wayne, Fortunately my wife and I have a reasonably open relationship and She allowed me a mistress, closest I'll get to being French I suppose, anyway she complains now and again that I give her outdoors more attention than her indoors!! I'll never understand women!
No, I don't think we ever will, but that's nice it least it's an open relationship, nothing to hide.there is something to be said about the French, just not in the biking world.
Welcome Wayne but remember we are a serious bunch here and won't accept any talk about dirty helmets, lubrication, pumping engines, well greased pistons, best rubber, strongest chains, leather chaps, comfortable rides and the like. As long as you remember that you'll be ok. Cheers Dick (no, that is my real name)
