After weeks of not riding I took the TT1200 out today, the recent rains having washed the salt away and dry roads for once, I had a genuine reason for the trip so all boxes ticked!
Having not ridden (and barely driven) for so long the bike felt really fast, great to get a bit of adrenaline flowing amidst the tedium of lockdown, it brought home to me just how important motorcycling is in relation to mental health, I had been feeling very lethargic and unbelievably bored prior to that ride, a quick 45 minute blast has fixed that!
So if you have a necessary journey and the roads are dry take the bike not the car, I guarantee you’ll feel better for it.

PS “just in case” the bike got a wash and dry when I got back, also a waft of “MucOff” bike protect.

I couldn't agree more! Having not ridden since before Christmas, I had an appointment to get my hearing aids fixed. Got a nice 60 miles on the wee street twin and it was glorious! It's such a cliche but its so true about biking being therapeutic. Really good boost for the mind and soul :)
