Good to see Triumph are diversifying, although from the head stock back it does resemble something my Mum and Dad cycled to Bournemouth on in 1954

Well I rather like the look of it. I don’t know anything about electric bikes but 3k does sound expensive.

With respect, it is not aimed at us.

It is aimed at urban commuters who want to do their bit for the environment but doesn't want to break a sweat going to work in the morning. They will think the 'triumph brand is retro cool without having to have a motorcycle because they are dangerous or a car as they are so bad for the environment'.

I know as my mother-in-law has an £2k e-bike and that was her words when I showed her earlier.

Looks? Price? Never mind. I want a motor under there to make the wheels go round. And one measured in H.P. Just not ready to embrace the hummm movement.

Your mother in law makes legitimate points. As do many others. But until at least two major issues, which have been discussed repeatedly, range and price are resolved they will have difficulty being accepted. For big city dwellers they may work but the majority need more. When those issues are behind us we can talk about its looks. It appears to me that the Triumph designers were following the same philosophy as some of motorcycles. Old school look with modern touches.
